About this opportunity

Ericsson Inc. seeks a Solution Architect in Plano, TX or any home office in the U.S., who will serve to analyze, craft and develop commercially viable end-to-end technical solutions around Public/Private Cloud Deployments for the customers/VNF (Virtualized Network Function) and Service Providers.

What you will do:

Analyze, craft and develop commercially viable end-to-end technical solutions around Public/Private Cloud Deployments for the customers/VNF (Virtualized Network Function) and Service Providers..Provide profitable business for Ericsson by translating customer needs and technology opportunities into detailed technical offerings, solutions and proposals. Scope, define, and craft solution offerings including a focus on quality deliverables for cloud deployments. analyze customers' technology around software defined network using NFV-I based deployments, define business requirements and participate in risk analysis and drive teams to identify impact risk, mitigation plan to ensure deliverables are not impacted. Work with core team on list of potential activities and solutions. Develop technical presentations and proposals and perform customer presentations and support deployment of solution for Public/Private Cloud Deployments using Openstack as the core solution. Provide feedback to R&D and participate in knowledge transfer, documentation and information sharing. Utilize knowledge in Telecommunications specifically NFV-I (Network Function Virtualization – Infrastructure), E2E flow of information for Network function in a Software Defined Network (SDN) with focus on quality of service and ensuing Network Optimization/Network Design is able to support the Tenant requirements. Utilize knowledge of Openstack Cloud Computing Platform (IaaS) and Software Defined Networking (SDN) and understanding of NFV to ensure SDN is able to support the stringent Bandwidth and quality-of-service requirements as defined by Tenants. You will bring:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and 7 years of experience as a Cloud Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, or closely related.

7 years of experience to include: Python, PERL, & Shell Scripting; Servers Networking, Storage Networking, Systems Software Administration.

5 years of experience to include:

Cloud Computing, Open Stack, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes

Your Pay
The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

The salary range for this position is

  • Cities in California counties : Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara: $160,285 - $213,500
  • All California cities not included in Bay Area, along with cities in the following States: Washington, New York, New Jersey, and District of Columbia: $160,285 – 193,500
  • All other US locations: $160,285 - $181,000

Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Ericsson offers excellent health benefits including the choice of three medical plan options and a dental plan option that allow an employee to select the level of coverage that suits their needs. Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost that Ericsson pays toward the cost of their medical and dental premiums for themselves and eligible covered dependents.

Your Financial Security

We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson match $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson’s full matching contributions of 4%. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term and long-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan.

Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
