G&A Solutions Engineering (GSE) is IS&T's dedicated technology partner for Apple's general and administrative functions — including people, finance, facilities, legal, and security. The team builds and delivers integrated technology solutions that keep these functions running efficiently and securely at global scale. GSE also works closely with business teams to develop custom tools that improve productivity and bring greater automation and consistency to G&A operations across Apple.
Description
We are looking for a team member with a strong foundation in computer science theory along with industry experience. In this role, you will envision, design, develop, and deliver components of a well integrated, distributed system that will become the core financial capabilities for Apple. You have a proven record of writing proposals to solve complex problems by digging deep into a domain when needed and turning them into product features.
Responsibilities
- Your responsibilities will involve enhancing our current test cases, performing engineering quality assurance testing and ensuring all required tests are executed successfully
- As the designated quality owner for specific functional and application areas, you’ll define qualification strategies and oversee a range of testing, including functionality, compatibility, integration and reliability testing. This will cover applications operating within complex mobile, desktop, and cloud platforms
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience 4+ years in designing, implementing & supporting highly scalable systems and services in Java or other JVM-based languages
- Sound understanding of Financial Engineering and how payments/commerce transactions are processed through systems to reflect their accounting and financial impact
- At least 2 years experience with different data store technologies(SQL, NoSQL)
- Experience in Event Driven Architecture and messaging technologies such as Kafka
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Understand Engineering concerns like reliability, scale, availability, accuracy etc that are particularly important for Payments
- Self-starter with strong customer and product focus, and a desire to gain awareness of an eco system and how systems collaborate
- Ability to communicate thoughtfully, write engineering proposals, leverage problem-solving skills, build a learning mindset and establish long-term relationships
- Practical experience with Postgres, MongoDB
- Public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc)
- Deployment experience using Docker and Kubernetes
