Description

Location: Amsterdam
Duration: 6 months
Start date: January/February 2027
Length: Fulltime (40h a week)

NOTE: YOU MUST BE ENROLLED IN EDUCATION DURING THE ENTIRE INTERNSHIP TO BE CONSIDERED.

You will be part of EMEA Service Engineering, which sits under the Vehicle Software organization. Service Engineering is responsible for keeping our global vehicle fleet operating as intended – analyzing data to identify issues or trends, creating repair and diagnostic procedures for vehicle repair technicians, and developing software-based fixes which roll out Over-The-Air to vehicles. When a failure mode is unknown or new, Service Engineering get to the root cause and own issues through to resolution.

The internship focuses on fast and accurate diagnosis of HV battery issues and increasing efficiency in Service. Specifically, the tasks will be to:

  • Develop offboard and onboard diagnostic software to accurately identify conditions requiring HV battery repair.
  • Develop procedures, tracking, software and automation workflows to increase Service efficiency related to ordering replacement batteries, conducting battery repairs and preparing batteries for shipment.
  • Identify and develop HV battery cross-compatibility hardware and software procedures to enable retrofitting new batteries to older vehicles.
Through internships with Tesla, students have the opportunity to learn and grow their professional skillset while working on complex real-world engineering problems. This hands-on experience, which includes software development, integration, testing, and deployment provides a valuable introduction to the industry and Tesla’s dynamic work environment, complementing university learnings with practical experience, under the guidance of an assigned mentor.
