Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain reliable, secure, scalable infrastructure within our Java codebase, taking new ideas from initial prototype to production-grade features.
  • Partner closely with product managers, SREs, data scientists and partner engineering teams across Google Calendar and the broader Google Workspace (Gmail, Chat, Meet) ecosystem to deliver seamless user experiences. 
  • Advocate a culture of engineering excellence and high quality standards, ensuring all infrastructure we are responsible for is resilient, performant, and safe.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in one or more programming languages, including Java, C++, and Python.
  • Experience in software development.
