About the team
Automation Testing builds how developers test and automate their APIs, from local runs and CI pipelines to scheduled and large-scale runs in the cloud.
About the role
You'll work across Automation Testing, starting with test data: connecting databases and other sources to tests. The role leans toward the correctness and reliability of the data behind tests and integrations across API building and automation workflows.
What you'll do
- Build features that help developers test their APIs and automate those tests, locally, in CI and in the cloud
- Make test runs fast, reliable and easy to debug, at any scale
- Build the results and reporting that show users what passed, what failed and why
- Ship end to end, from design to production, with well-tested code
- Review code, contribute to design, and own what you ship in production, including on-call
What we're looking for
- 3+ years building and shipping production software
- Strong fundamentals and clean, well-tested code
- Strong backend engineering in Node.js/TypeScript, Go and cloud providers like AWS
- Working depth in databases and SQL across more than one engine
- Care for data correctness: types, precision and conversions that lose nothing
Nice to have
- Experience with database drivers (JDBC or native) or query engines
- Experience with API testing, developer tools or test automation

At Postman we value in person collaboration. We are in office 5 days a week for all roles based out of our hubs in San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Austin, New York City, Tokyo and London. For roles based in Bangalore, employees currently work in the office three days a week and will transition to five days per week by the end of the year. We were thoughtful in our approach which is based on collaboration and grounded in feedback from our workforce, leadership team, and peers. The benefits of our in office model will be shared knowledge, brainstorming sessions, communication, and building trust in-person that cannot be replicated via zoom.
