We’re Hiring: Software Test Engineer

We are looking for curious, analytical, and technology-focused graduates to join our Software Quality Engineering team in Kolkata. This opportunity is ideal for candidates who want to build a career in software testing while gaining hands-on experience with enterprise applications, Agile development, automation, APIs, cloud technologies, and AI.
What Will You Do?
As part of the Software Quality Engineering team, you will:
- Analyze business needs and software requirements, and identify gaps, risks, and testability concerns early.
- Own test planning and test strategy for features and releases, including scope, approach, and risk-based prioritization.
- Design comprehensive test scenarios and test cases that cover end-to-end business workflows, integrations, and edge cases.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, and system testing, analyze results, and report defects with clear root-cause insights.
- Build, maintain, and enhance automated test suites for UI and API layers.
- Perform API testing and back-end data validation.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and track quality metrics.
- Interpret workflows, architecture diagrams, business processes, and system interactions to design effective tests.
- Collaborate closely with developers, architects, business analysts, product owners, and fellow quality engineers.
- Participate actively in Scaled Agile activities, including PI Planning, sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, efficiency, and overall product quality.
What Are We Looking For?
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
- 3-4 years of hands-on experience in software testing and quality engineering.
- Strong analytical, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to testing.
- The ability to translate complex requirements into meaningful test conditions and coverage.
- Solid experience with SDLC, STLC, defect life cycle, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Proven experience in functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Hands-on experience with test automation using tools such as Playwright, or similar.
- Programming or scripting proficiency in at least one language (Java, Python, JavaScript).
- Experience with API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to raise risks and quality concerns.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a drive to keep learning.
Skills That Will Give Candidates an Advantage
Experience in any of the following areas will be valuable:
- Designing or maintaining test automation frameworks.
- Understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps pipelines
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Internet of Things
- Using AI tools in testing
- ISTQB or equivalent testing certification
