As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. Google Pay now serves over 250M users in India. Our Singapore-based team is the engine behind many of the India Consumer app’s core features. We own the end-to-end reliability and growth for critical user surfaces, driving both engagement and multi-million dollar business generation streams.

In this role, you will be expected to build and own entire user flows in the app with a focus on performance, latency and reliability of the stack.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain key surfaces within the flutter-based GPay app, with a focus on performance optimization, UI development and RPC integration.
Build and own entire user flows in the app with a focus on performance, and latency.
Work on relevant technologies such as Java, Dart, Flutter, Android/iOS, and AI Agent prompting.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of experience with full stack development, across the back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
Experience building systems that scale to millions of users globally.
Experience working effectively with PM/UX to drive features end-to-end.
Mobile app, full-stack or backend development experience.
