Come help us create innovative capabilities for Amazon's Associates, managers, and leaders to support the evolution of People eXperience and Technology (PXT). The Workforce Solutions (WS) team builds and delivers world-class products/services for Amazon's employees, we believe that happy Amazon customers start with happy Amazon employees! We give Amazon associates around the globe the flexibility to enrich their job experience through pay incentives and job mobility. We thrive on developing world-class experiences for associates worldwide to empower them to increase their income, explore job options, train, choose, and progress in their careers at Amazon. As a member of this team, you are changing people's lives by creating the tools that help them advance in their careers! We're seeking a self-driven professional with strong communication skills who can deliver high-quality results in our fast-paced environment.

This is a hands-on engineering leadership role. You will set technical direction alongside senior engineers, raise the bar on design and operational quality, and develop a team that thrives on hard distributed-systems problems. The ideal candidate reads code, understands design patterns, and can challenge a design with a concrete alternative. You are equally comfortable in a design review, an operational deep dive, and a one-on-one focused on an engineer's growth.

Key job responsibilities
  • Set and execute the technical roadmap for associate-facing and manager-facing workforce products, making deliberate tradeoffs across feature velocity, global compliance, and operational cost at scale.
  • Shape how managers and HR leaders consume performance, scheduling, and feedback data through emerging GenAI-powered interfaces, self-service dashboards, and upstream data integrations.
  • Partner with senior and principal engineers on architecture decisions spanning service migration, data pipelines, and cross-regional deployment strategies that must operate in 25+ country regulatory environments.
  • Lead a team of 10–15 software engineers building the backend services, data transformation layers, and frontend experiences behind workforce management products used daily by tens of thousands of Amazon managers.
  • Hire, develop, and retain strong engineers, and raise the technical bar through design reviews, code reviews, operational readiness reviews, and mentorship.
  • Drive modernization and cost efficiency through deliberate architecture evolution (e.g., monolith decomposition, cloud-native migration) — not just incremental tuning.
  • Own operational excellence across multiple regions, including on-call, incident response, data quality SLAs, and security compliance for systems handling sensitive employee data.
  • Work with product management and stakeholders to turn associate experience requirements into engineering plans that balance speed, quality, global regulatory constraints, and cost.
