Overview

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Operations Development group, where you will be a hands-on technical contributor building the foundational data infrastructure that powers our middle and back office operations. The systems you work on — authoritative books and records, PnL reconciliation tooling — are consumed daily by our Treasury and front office teams and must be accurate, auditable, and reliable.

This role rewards engineers who combine strong technical fundamentals with genuine understanding of how capital markets firms operate. You should arrive with meaningful exposure to middle or back office workflows — trade lifecycles, position-keeping, reconciliation — and the appetite to go deep on systems where correctness is not optional. You will own significant pieces of our infrastructure end-to-end, contribute meaningfully to design reviews, and work in close partnership with Operations, Finance, and Treasury counterparts.

You will work alongside senior engineers and a technical team lead, with real peer depth around you and clear paths to grow your scope and influence over time.

What You’ll Own

Hands-On Engineering

  • Build, maintain, and improve core middle and back office systems, owning specific services or components end-to-end
  • Write clean, well-tested, production-grade code with a strong emphasis on correctness and auditability
  • Contribute actively to architecture and design discussions — your technical opinions are expected and valued
  • Debug and resolve complex data and system issues independently, escalating where appropriate
  • Use AI-assisted development tooling actively to improve delivery quality and velocity

Books & Records for Trades and Positions

  • Develop and maintain internal books and records systems capturing the full trade lifecycle across asset classes
  • Contribute to authoritative position-keeping infrastructure that serves as the firm’s internal source of truth for Treasury and front office consumers
  • Uphold data integrity, auditability, and consistency across systems where accuracy is paramount

Trade and Position Reconciliation

  • Build and enhance reconciliation tooling that compares internal trades and positions against prime broker and counterparty statements
  • Implement break investigation and resolution workflows that reduce operational burden and surface issues before they reach the business
  • Collaborate with Operations and Finance to ensure reconciliation logic reflects real-world business rules and firm-specific accounting treatment

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with Operations, Finance, and Treasury counterparts to translate business requirements into well-scoped technical solutions
  • Participate in design reviews and technical discussions, contributing substantively to decisions that affect your area of ownership
  • Communicate clearly across technical and business audiences when discussing system behavior, tradeoffs, or issues
What we're looking for
  • Working knowledge of middle and/or back office operations at a prop trading firm, broker/dealer, or similar environment — trade capture, position management, PnL concepts, reconciliation, or settlement
  • Ability to reason about financial data flows: from raw trade feeds through positions, PnL attribution, and downstream reporting
  • Experience working with or alongside Operations, Finance, or Treasury teams on production systems
  • Familiarity with multi-asset class environments is a plus (equities, fixed income, derivatives, listed options)

Technical Skills

  • 5–7+ years of software development experience, with strong C# and .NET fundamentals
  • Strong SQL skills; comfort designing and querying large, structured financial datasets
  • Experience building high-correctness, auditable systems where data accuracy is paramount
  • Demonstrated ownership mentality — you see problems through to resolution rather than handing them off at the first hurdle
  • Comfortable working independently on ambiguous problems and communicating clearly about progress, blockers, and tradeoffs

Why This Role

  • Work on systems that matter: your output is consumed daily by Treasury and front office teams who depend on its accuracy
  • Real end-to-end ownership — you won’t be handed narrow tasks; you’ll own meaningful problems across books and records and reconciliation
  • Opportunity to build, not just maintain — we are actively expanding our middle and back office infrastructure
  • Strong peer environment with senior technical depth around you and clear paths to grow your scope and influence
  • Work in an environment that actively invests in AI tooling and expects engineers to use it
