Job Duties: Design, develop, troubleshoot and/or test/QA software. As a member of the software engineering division, apply knowledge of software architecture to perform tasks associated with developing, debugging, or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and/or suggest improvements to the architecture. May telecommute. (385.34238)

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field followed by 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a software developer-related occupation. Position requires:

Java – OOP and design patterns, and enterprise-grade services;
Design and evolution of versioned REST APIs;
End-to-end product lifecycle ownership, taking products from concept to end-to-life through requirements, design, development, deployment, maintenance, user acceptance, and ongoing support;
Authentication and authorization integration (MFA/2FA, OAuth, and LDAP), including implementing secure sign-in and re-authentication flows for enterprise applications and services;
TDD (Test-Driven Development), automated unit testing (Junit and Mockito), and API Contract testing;
Architecting, building, and evolving enterprise-grade applications, balancing scalability, reliability, and security in complex, multi-team environments;
Cloud service integration - serverless compute, API gateway routing, workflow orchestration, event streaming, managed databases, caching layers, and cloud monitoring;
Production-grade algorithm and data-structure engineering using object-oriented design;
Frontend UI engineering for production web applications, building responsive, user-facing interfaces with JavaScript, HTML, and Angular JS or React frameworks;
Database engineering – SQL-based data modeling, production-safe querying, and SQL proficiency;
Microservices and service-oriented architecture (SOA) in distributed system;
Event-driven systems and asynchronous processing – Kafka;
CI/CD and build engineering (Jenkins, Maven, Docker, and Kubernetes) with pipeline debugging;
Source code management (SCM) in enterprise environments using Git, SVN, and Bitbucket;
Large-scale production observability and incident triage using Splunk and New Relic, with ALM/Rally supporting test management and release tracking;
Enterprise Java service frameworks – Spring Boot for building production REST services; and
Schema-driven integration and validation using structured formats and API specifications using XML, JSON, YAML, or OpenAPI/Swagger.

Qualifications

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
