The Softgoods Magnet PD team designs magnets for iPad, AirPods, MacBook, and many other Apple products and accessories. Our mission is to design the innovative magnetic circuits in Apple products to deliver magic and delightful experiences to our customers. We have a hardworking team of people from a wide variety of backgrounds. In this role you will assist the magnet design effort associated with creating world-class products for Apple. Responsibilities will include working closely with product design, manufacturing, test engineering, electrical engineering, reliability, and compliance. You will design and implement magnet systems in our products, with emphasis on practical and clever solutions. You will resolve technical issues that arise in the design of these products and be expected to follow the product from concept, through development, and into ramp. Description
We are looking for a highly motivated magnetics product design engineer. As a member of our collaborative, cross-functional design team, you will be responsible for conceiving, designing and producing exciting new magnet technologies, systems, and products. You will work closely with US and Asia based Product Designers and many other cross functional groups, including Industrial Design, Hardware Engineering, Operations and Reliability.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS in physics/material/electrical engineering/mechanical engineering, or similar engineering fields
- 3+ years experience related to magnetic design, manufacturing, or engineering
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin
- Learn new things quickly and apply newly learned knowledge to solve problems
- Detail oriented, proactive thinking and capable of handling multiple assignments
- Strong analytical problem solving skills and ability to use statistical tools
Preferred Qualifications
- MS or PhD in physics/materials/electrical engineering/mechanical engineering, or similar engineering fields
- Experienced design engineer with technical leadership experience in consumer product development
- Familiar with magnetic material, magnetic test methods
- Experience in magnet design, manufacturing, FEA (AnSYS), material, and test methods
- 5+ years relevant experience
