Position Overview
Siemens is seeking an experienced Services Director to lead a global team of Solution Architects, Consultants, and Technical Experts focused on Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and PCB development solutions.
This leadership role is instrumental in scaling professional services revenue, driving customer success, and enabling the successful deployment of Siemens' PCB design ecosystem. The successful candidate will oversee consulting engagements, technical implementations, workflow optimization initiatives, and strategic customer relationships across a diverse portfolio of enterprise accounts.
As the ECAD industry evolves toward cloud-enabled workflows, AI-assisted design, digital thread integration, and advanced multi-physics simulation, this leader will help customers maximize the value of Siemens Xpedition and related technologies while accelerating innovation and reducing development cycles.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute professional services strategies that support revenue growth, customer adoption, and long-term business objectives.
- Lead global deployment initiatives involving Siemens ECAD solutions, design data management, and enterprise workflow optimization.
- Establish scalable consulting methodologies, best practices, and service delivery frameworks across regions.
Professional Services & Business Management
- Own professional services business performance, including revenue attainment, gross margin objectives, resource utilization, forecasting, and delivery excellence.
- Oversee statement of work (SOW) development, project governance, risk mitigation, and customer success metrics.
- Ensure high-quality execution of complex customer engagements involving advanced PCB design environments.
Customer Engagement & Technical Consulting
- Serve as an executive technical advisor to strategic customers, helping define future-state design methodologies and transformation roadmaps.
- Consult with customers to identify design process gaps, workflow bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve engineering productivity and product quality.
- Demonstrate the value of Siemens EDA technologies and Services in achieving aggressive performance, reliability, and time-to-market objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product Management, R&D, Sales, and Customer Success organizations to influence product direction and communicate customer requirements.
- Collaborate with Siemens development teams on advanced workflows, custom solutions, integrations, and customer-driven innovation initiatives.
- Provide market insight and customer feedback regarding emerging industry trends and competitive positioning.
- Partner with sister services team to sell and delivery end-to-end workflows. The sister teams add mechanical, wire harness and product lifecycle management to our electrical offerings to deliver complete solutions for our systems customers.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing global organization of consultants, architects, and technical specialists.
- Build expertise across PCB design methodologies, automation, scripting, design data management, and enterprise integration technologies.
- Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, innovation, and customer focus.
Technical Expertise
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in PCB development processes and EDA technologies, including:
- Siemens Xpedition Enterprise
- EDM Design and Library Management
- HyperLynx Simulation Solutions
- Valor Manufacturing Solutions
- Design data management and digital thread methodologies
- PCB schematic capture and layout design
- Signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal analysis workflows
- Enterprise system integration, databases, APIs, and automation frameworks
- Scripting and programming languages such as Python, TCL, or equivalent
Experience supporting customer IT architectures, cloud deployments, and enterprise software integrations is highly desirable.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
Experience
- 10+ years of leadership experience managing technical consulting, professional services, applications engineering, or customer success organizations.
- Significant experience within the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) and PCB development industry.
- Demonstrated success leading geographically distributed engineering and consulting teams.
- Proven ability to drive services revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong executive communication, presentation, and customer engagement skills.
- Deep understanding of PCB design methodologies and ECAD design flows.
- Experience developing strategic customer relationships and influencing technical decisions at all organizational levels.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE), Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent business leadership experience.
- Experience with cloud-native ECAD platforms and enterprise digital transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of PLM, ERP, and enterprise engineering system integrations.
- Experience supporting semiconductor, aerospace, defense, automotive, or high-tech electronics customers.
Our Benefits & Rewards The total cash compensation range for this position is 240,400to480,800 with 25% of this being comprised of an annual incentive target (100% achievement). The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
