Our Network Infrastructure organization is responsible for Akamai's Edge Platform. It is one of the world's largest distributed platforms consisting of over 250,000+ servers across 137 countries. This platform handles a significant portion of the world's Internet traffic. Our Server Tech Services team works on hardware and network issues on Akamai's infrastructure.

As a Server Tech Services Engineer, you will work on troubleshooting hardware and network issues on Akamai servers across APJ. This infrastructure delivers Akamai's Content Distribution Network as well as our Internet Security products.
As a Server Tech Services Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Diagnosing hardware and network issues remotely
- Facilitating server repairs working with ISP and Field Engineers to fix those issues
- Coordinating return of Akamai equipment back to the warehouse/vendors
- Working with the hardware engineering team to identify and resolve different types of hardware issues occurring after the equipment are deployed
- Monitoring hardware failure patterns and proactively reporting to Hardware Engineering and vendors
- Managing Akamai's hardware assets
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in technology or related field or relevant Professional Experience
- Have 1+ years of hands-on network and server hardware experience in fault diagnosis
- Have basic knowledge of server hardware technologies such as types of hard drives, RAMs, motherboards and RAID
- Have basic knowledge of layer 1 and 2 troubleshooting skills, OSI Model and Unix/Linux command-line interface (CLI)
- Have exposure to Data center technologies and infrastructure
- Be able to to maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, third party service providers and vendors
- Demonstrate exceptional analytical skills, the ability to systematically gather relevant information and use that information to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Be able to occasionally work in non-office hours
