We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to join the Finance Data & Experiences (FD&E) team focused on CapEx, COGS, and Gross Margin data for the Commercial Products & Infrastructure Infra and Margin Strategy (CPIM) Finance team. In this role, you will lead strategic reporting modernization and business transformation initiatives, own end-to-end delivery of complex programs that improve financial reporting, automate business processes, and enable better business decisions through modern data and analytics solutions. You will work across Finance, Accounting, Engineering, and Operations teams to define vision, align stakeholders, manage execution, and drive measurable business outcomes.
The ideal candidate combines strong program management skills, business acumen, technical depth, and stakeholder influence. You will lead cross-functional initiatives that simplify reporting experiences, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate Microsoft's finance transformation journey.

This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence at our Redmond campus three days a week.

Program Leadership
- Lead medium-to-large scale reporting modernization and finance transformation initiatives.
- Define program vision, strategy, objectives, roadmaps, and success metrics.
- Drive end-to-end solution delivery from discovery through implementation and adoption.
- Manage complex project plans, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure successful execution across multiple partner teams.
Business Transformation
- Partner with Finance leaders to identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve business processes.
- Develop business cases and prioritize investments based on impact and customer value.
- Drive standardization and modernization of reporting capabilities.
- Lead change management and adoption efforts associated with new solutions.
Data & Analytics Strategy
- Drive initiatives supporting reporting, planning, forecasting, budgeting, headcount, and operational analytics.
- Partner with engineering and data teams to shape scalable architecture and solution designs.
- Ensure solutions deliver high-quality, trusted, and actionable financial insights.
- Promote data governance and operational excellence practices.
Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted relationships across Finance, Engineering, and Leadership teams.
- Influence decisions without direct authority.
- Communicate executive-level updates, program health, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Align stakeholders around shared outcomes and business priorities.
Innovation & Process Improvement
- Champion automation, AI, and modern reporting capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to simplify business processes and increase organizational efficiency.
- Mentor other TPMs and contribute to program management best practices.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Finance, Business, or related field AND 4+ years experience in technical program management, project management, software engineering, data analytics, business intelligence, or related disciplines.
- 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in technical program management, project management, software engineering, data analytics, business intelligence, or related disciplines.
- 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
- Experience supporting Finance, FP&A, Accounting, Reporting, or Business Operations functions.
- Experience with Power BI, SQL, Azure data platforms, SAP, or enterprise financial systems.
- Experience leading reporting modernization or business transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and Azure DevOps.
- Experience implementing automation and AI-enabled business solutions.
- Experience managing programs involving financial reporting, forecast reporting, budget planning, headcount, or operational performance reporting.
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
