Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Senior Technical Consultant — Salesforce DevOps & Release Engineering ensures Migration Factory solutions align with industry best practices to drive long-term customer success. You are a big-picture thinker and an in-depth problem solver, with broad and deep technical expertise. You take pride in designing resilient systems that withstand high volumes and critical migration demands while balancing technical and enterprise-level considerations.

This is a cross-track, shared-services role — not dedicated to a single product track — responsible for designing, building and continuously improving the CI/CD pipelines, environment management frameworks, deployment automation toolkits and release governance standards that underpin every migration wave. You will partner with all track Technical Architects to provision environments, automate deployment pipelines, enforce code quality gates, manage metadata versioning and execute cutover automation scripts — enabling the factory to deliver migrations faster, safer and more predictably at scale.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to define requirements, deliverables and manage expectations across all migration factory tracks — acting as the DevOps point of contact for both internal track teams and client release management leads.
  • Assess existing DevOps processes, tools and practices at the start of each migration engagement — recommending targeted improvements to branching strategy, environment management, deployment models and quality gate maturity to align with factory standards.
  • Design, present and implement best-fit DevOps solutions considering customer needs, tool preferences and commercial constraints — selecting and configuring the right combination of Gearset, Copado, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or GitLab CI for each wave context.
  • Drive the selection and implementation of DevOps tools and technologies across the Migration Factory — evaluating tooling against factory requirements for multi-org support, concurrent wave isolation, metadata conflict management and automated test integration.
  • Lead the setup and execution of Salesforce DevOps frameworks for small-to-medium migration waves — independently owning pipeline design, environment provisioning, branching setup, quality gate configuration and go-live cutover automation from kickoff to production release.
  • Collaborate closely with Technical Architects and track leads on larger migration engagements — translating complex multi-track solution designs into phased deployment pipelines, environment dependency sequences and release governance procedures.
  • Ensure successful continuous delivery deployments across environments — maintaining environment pyramid integrity (Dev → SIT → UAT → Pre-Prod → Production) across all tracks, with automated promotion gates, sandbox refresh scheduling and environment health monitoring.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce product teams to support client implementations — escalating platform DevOps issues, validating metadata API behaviours for new feature releases and incorporating Salesforce-recommended deployment patterns as they evolve.
  • Design and own the Migration Factory's CI/CD pipeline architecture — building and maintaining shared GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or GitLab CI pipelines that orchestrate environment provisioning, metadata deployment, automated testing, quality scanning and environment promotion across all product tracks.
  • Implement source-driven development standards — enforcing Salesforce DX project structure, package-based or source-tracked deployment patterns & metadata API versioning.
  • Lead cutover pipeline design and automation — building automated cutover deployment scripts, pre-cutover validation checklists, automated smoke test suites and post-cutover health dashboards that each track team executes on go-live night.
  • Build and maintain the DevOps accelerator library — developing reusable pipeline templates, custom GitHub Actions, SFDX wrapper utilities and deployment configuration manifests that reduce pipeline setup time for each new migration wave.
  • Govern metadata versioning and conflict resolution — managing metadata conflict resolution protocols when concurrent track teams modify shared metadata objects, defining org-level metadata ownership maps and merge arbitration procedures.
  • Define and report on DevOps metrics — establishing and reporting on pipeline health KPIs including deployment success rate, pipeline execution time, code coverage trends, test failure rates, environment availability and cutover execution accuracy.
  • Participate in Architecture Review Board (ARB) — representing the DevOps perspective in all ARB sessions, reviewing track solution designs for CI/CD compatibility, environment feasibility and deployment risk, and enforcing factory DevOps standards.
  • Support developer onboarding and DevOps enablement — running internal enablement sessions for track STC and TC teams on Salesforce DX, Git workflows, pipeline usage and local development environment setup, reducing onboarding ramp time.

CORE TECHNICAL SKILLS — MUST HAVE

  • Salesforce Platform Experience (6+ years): Deep, hands-on Salesforce platform experience with a primary focus on DevOps, release management and CI/CD implementation — spanning multiple product clouds and enterprise delivery programmes.
  • Salesforce DX, CLI & Metadata API: Expert proficiency with Salesforce DX, Salesforce CLI, Metadata API and Apex — including SFDX project structure, source tracking, scratch org management, .forceignore configuration and programmatic org inspection via Tooling API. Core toolchain for all factory pipelines.
  • Apex & Lightning Web Components: Hands-on Salesforce development in Apex (Triggers, Batch, Schedulable, REST/SOAP callouts) and Lightning Web Components — sufficient to build and maintain DevOps tooling deployed on the Salesforce platform: pipeline dashboards, environment health monitors, deployment validators and wave progress trackers.
  • CI/CD Tools — Copado, Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps: Strong working knowledge of enterprise CI/CD tools for Salesforce — Copado (user stories, pipelines, quality gates), Jenkins, GitLab CI and Azure DevOps Pipelines. Ability to author complex multi-stage pipelines with conditional logic, secrets management and parallel track execution.
  • Version Control — GitHub, Bitbucket: Expert Git discipline — GitFlow, GitHub Flow and trunk-based development applied to Salesforce multi-org delivery. Ability to design environment-to-branch mapping, PR gate policies, automated merge conflict detection and long-running release branch management for concurrent wave teams.
  • Sandbox Strategy & Source-Driven Development: Deep understanding of Salesforce sandbox lifecycle management — full/partial/developer/scratch org provisioning, refresh scheduling, post-refresh automation and source-driven deployment patterns. Ability to design a full migration environment pyramid and automate its management.
  • Deployment Models — Change Sets, Packages, Metadata Deployments: Comprehensive knowledge of all Salesforce deployment models — Change Set migration, Unlocked/Managed 2GP package development and direct Metadata API deployments. Ability to select and implement the right model for each track's migration phase and wave complexity.
  • Test Automation Tools — Provar, CRT, TOSCA, ApexUnit, JMeter: Exposure to Salesforce test automation tooling — Provar, Copado Robotic Testing (CRT), TOSCA, Selenium for UI regression, ApexUnit for Apex coverage and JMeter for performance testing. Ability to integrate automated test execution as quality gates in CI pipelines across all tracks.
  • Code Quality & Security Tools — SonarQube, PMD, Checkmarx: Hands-on experience integrating static analysis and security scanning tools — PMD for Apex rule enforcement, ESLint for LWC, SonarQube or Checkmarx for SAST — authoring custom rule sets for migration-specific anti-patterns and enforcing blocking gates in CI pipelines.
  • Docker & Orchestration Pipelines: Experience with Docker for building hermetic CI build environments, SFDX toolchain version management and containerised deployment execution. Understanding of orchestration pipeline patterns for sequencing multi-track deployment dependencies.
  • Security Integration in CI/CD: Understanding of how to integrate security scanning, secrets management (Vault, Azure Key Vault, GitHub Secrets), encrypted credential injection and compliance gate enforcement into factory deployment pipelines.
  • Performance Monitoring Tools: Understanding of performance monitoring and observability tools — Salesforce Event Monitoring, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor — to validate post-deployment environment health and track migration wave performance baselines.
  • Branching & Release Governance: Expert knowledge of branching strategies, release governance frameworks, sandbox refresh sequencing and metadata version control discipline applied to concurrent Salesforce migration wave delivery.
  • Client-Facing Communication & Project Leadership: Strong client-facing communication skills — ability to lead small/medium migration waves independently or support Technical Architects on large-scale programmes, translating DevOps constraints into clear delivery impact language for stakeholders.
