Senior Staff Software Engineer, Google One

Responsibilities
- Drive the long-term engineering strategy, incorporating organizational business priorities and technological shifts.
- Own key technical decisions, guiding the team through design tradeoffs, safety considerations, and risk management.
- Identify system hotspots to improve technical health and remove widely-felt barriers to productivity.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure features are built consistently across different platforms.
- Coach the next generation of technical leaders through direct mentorship and scalable initiatives.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in C++.
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing or launching software products.
- Experience operating as a technical authority on systems and leading projects.
- Experience driving technical and process improvements across engineering organizations.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Experience leading technical strategy, scaling architecture, and anticipating obstacles in shifting environments.
