Position Summary:
Responsible for ST Muar PLP (Panel Level Packaging) manufacturing quality by managing quality assurance functions to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, process compliance, and continuous improvement.
Lead the entire QA PLP team and coordinate cross-functional quality initiatives to support manufacturing excellence, new product introduction, defect reduction, and operational readiness.
YOUR ROLE
- Manage PLP customer CI to meet the target of <100 ppm and customer excursion target of zero cases.
- Drive PLP quality programs to improve customer complaints and overall customer satisfaction.
- Ensure the PLP quality system meets both system and customer requirements.
- Ensure quality system effectiveness and compliance are maintained at all times.
- Manage customer audits and site visits to meet customer quality expectations.
- Lead the internal quality audit program to ensure the quality system remains effective.
- Manage internal FA, reliability, and ESD activities to support PLP NPI and customer quality issues.
- Interface with the RFC team and customers to manage customer-related enquiries and quality excursions with minimum company impact.
- Ensure all quality issues are addressed through effective systemic actions and cross-functional collaboration to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure the PLP clean room meets industry standards.
- Manage PLP manufacturing specialist, MTS, and QC training and certification to ensure all personnel are fully trained and certified.
- Manage PLP process control, IPC, SPC, and QC gates to ensure manufacturing processes and product quality are continuously monitored.
- Manage direct and indirect material quality by establishing incoming quality monitoring and annual supplier quality audits.
- Manage the PLP change management system to ensure all changes are properly controlled and meet system requirements.
- Work with the NPI team to ensure new PLP products are released to manufacturing with quality system readiness and compliance to quality and manufacturing standards.
- Drive shopfloor quality engagement programs, such as quality campaigns and monthly top management Gemba.
- Lead task force activities to improve PLP quality and support yield improvement actions to reduce manufacturing cost.
- Lead 8D review board for internal excursion cases.
- Support QC productivity improvement through PLP automation programs.
- Deploy FDC and inline electrical test to improve assembly defect detection.
- Drive process Cpk improvement with the APL team.
- Drive IPC/SPC/QC gates and LRR to meet internal KPIs.
- Lead and coach the manufacturing QA team to support production ramp-up and achieve IPS, cost, and quality targets.
YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
- PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical discipline.
- Professional certification in Quality Management, Six Sigma, or a related discipline would be an advantage.
- Extensive experience, preferably more than 20 years, in manufacturing quality assurance, with exposure to FE/BE semiconductor, electronics, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Proven track record in leading QA teams and managing quality assurance functions in a complex manufacturing operation.
- Strong experience in customer complaint management, quality management systems, internal audits, and supplier quality management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage customer audits, quality excursions, and new product introduction readiness.
- Strong background in driving continuous improvement, yield improvement, and process capability enhancement.
- Exposure to clean room manufacturing environments would be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, manufacturing quality control, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Good understanding of IPC, SPC, FDC, 8D, CAPA, root cause analysis, and other quality tools and techniques.
- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
