This role is responsible for the rigorous oversight of cost, scheduling, and the Integrated Change Management process to ensure the project remains on time and within budget. By synthesizing data from engineering, procurement, and construction teams, the Project Controls Engineer provides the visibility needed for early risk detection and evidence-based decision-making. This is a high-visibility role focused on maintaining financial integrity and schedule precision from project initiation through completion.Role and Responsibilities
Here's What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Leading the end-to-end workflow for all project deviations—from initial request and impact analysis to final baseline update.

- Acting as the "hub" between Engineering, Procurement, Contracts, and Construction to ensure milestones align with funding.
- Proactively identifying potential cost or schedule overruns and collaborating with management to create corrective action plans.
- Providing accurate projections of total project costs and identifying remaining funding requirements to prevent budget shortfalls.
- Developing and presenting weekly/monthly dashboards that highlight KPIs, variances, and critical risks to stakeholders.
- Analyzing contractor claims against the actual contract terms to ensure the company is not overpaying for change orders.
Skills and Qualifications
Here's What You'll Need:
- Expert-level experience in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project (this is the primary tool for their "what-if" modeling and baseline management).
- Proven experience managing a Change Control Board (CCB) or a formal change log, including the ability to perform holistic impact assessments (cost + schedule + quality).
- Ability to perform financial forecasting, track expenditures against a budget, and manage cost allocations.
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Finance (or equivalent extensive industry experience).
- Advanced MS Office skills (Excel/PowerPoint) with the ability to turn raw data from multiple departments into executive-level dashboards and reports.
