Responsibilities

  • Develop Product Quality Control Plans (PQCP) across IQC, IPQC, and OQC, and lead Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) reviews for wearable assemblies, testing, and packaging.
  • Partner with CMF and Industrial Design (IDE) on golden/limit samples, supervise FAIs, and establish measurement protocols for ECOs.
  • Audit factory lines (SMT, FATP, ORT), monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Cpk/Ppk metrics, and drive PFOL and Out-of-Box Audit (OOBA).
  • Lead cross-functional root cause investigations (Eight Disciplines (8D), 5-Why, Fishbone) for line stoppages, yield crashes, and field failure returns.
  • Lead Google OK2x reviews (OK2Send, OK2Build, OK2Ship), partner on supplier Measurement System Analysis (MSA)/Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R), and enforce component traceability.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in manufacturing quality management in the consumer electronics industry.
  • Experience in quality processes and tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA/GR&R.
  • Experience with problem solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, DMAIC, Fishbone, 5-Why, CAPA) for factory and field defects.
  • Experience in managing contract manufacturers (OEM/ODM/JDM) across Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) and Final Assembly, Test, and Pack (FATP) lines.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 25% to manufacturing partner sites during critical NPI build cycles.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or 8 years of experience managing hardware quality for complex wearable health trackers or connected devices.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Proficiency with statistical data analysis tools (Minitab, JMP) or for automated metrics tracking, defect Pareto analysis, and quality reporting.
  • Strong cross-functional technical leadership with the ability to drive technical alignment across design, operations, and executive stakeholders.
