Senior Product Manager(Substrate Transport and IC3 Message)
We are seeking a highly motivated Product Manager to help drive the strategy, execution, and operational excellence of the Microsoft 365 Substrate Transport and IC3 Message Pipeline platform. The successful candidate will own product vision, roadmap planning, service health initiatives, and customer impact reduction efforts for critical messaging infrastructure that powers large-scale Microsoft 365 experiences. You will work at the intersection of engineering, operations, reliability, and customer advocacy to ensure that message transport and processing services remain scalable, resilient, and efficient.

Responsibilities
- Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for Substrate Transport and IC3 Message Pipeline services.
- Partner closely with engineering leaders to align technical investments with business priorities and customer needs.
- Translate customer, operational, and engineering feedback into clear product requirements and feature priorities.
- Lead cross-organizational initiatives focused on message delivery reliability, transport efficiency, service scalability, and platform modernization.
- Drive improvements in service health metrics, availability, latency, throughput, and operational excellence.
- Analyze service telemetry, incident trends, customer signals, and operational data to identify opportunities for platform improvement.
- Facilitate prioritization discussions across engineering, operations, reliability, and partner teams.
- Define success metrics, key performance indicators, and business outcomes for messaging platform investments.
- Support live-site management efforts by partnering with IC3, service engineers, and reliability teams to reduce operational risk and customer impact.
- Develop executive-ready communications, business reviews, roadmap updates, and strategic planning materials.
- Represent the product vision in architecture reviews, engineering reviews, and leadership discussions.
- Champion customer-focused decision making while balancing reliability, scalability, compliance, and engineering efficiency.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).
- 6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
- 6+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
- Significant experience in Product Management, Program Management, or Technical Product Leadership with at least 5 years of experience.
- Proven ability to define strategy and deliver outcomes for large-scale cloud services or platform infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, messaging platforms, cloud infrastructure, or service-oriented architectures.
- Experience using data and telemetry to make product decisions and drive measurable improvements.
- Ability to influence across organizations and align multiple stakeholders toward common objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations and business reviews.
- Experience working with messaging systems, Exchange Online, transport infrastructure, or large-scale cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with operational excellence practices, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), incident management, and service health programs.
- Experience partnering closely with engineering leadership to deliver technically complex platform investments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Substrate services, IC3 operations, or enterprise-scale SaaS environments.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives involving engineering, operations, security, and compliance stakeholders.
- Solid analytical capabilities with experience in telemetry, experimentation, KPI development, and business impact assessment.
