Job Summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Senior Product Manager to help define and advance the data platform capabilities that power network security management across Strata Cloud Manager.

In this role, you will own product strategy and roadmap for capabilities across data ingestion, processing, storage, forwarding, scalability, reliability, and platform performance, including AI-driven initiatives that enable advanced analytics and automation.

You will develop a deep understanding of customer problems and operational workflows and translate those needs into product capabilities that simplify the day-to-day work of network and security administrators. You will partner closely with engineering, user experience, product management, product marketing, sales engineering, customer support, and other Network Security product teams to deliver scalable SaaS platform capabilities that meet evolving customer and market needs.

This role requires a combination of network security domain knowledge, data-platform experience, SaaS product leadership, and strong technical product management skills. This role is available in a hybrid capacity working 3 days a week onsite at Palo Alto Networks HQ in Santa Clara, California.

Your Impact

  • Define and drive the product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle for Strata Logging Service and related data platform capabilities
  • Own product requirements across data ingestion, processing, storage, forwarding, platform scalability, performance, and reliability
  • Identify and drive AI-enabled analytics and automation capabilities that improve security operations and customer outcomes
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer problems, workflows, and use cases through direct engagement with customers, partners, sales teams, and internal stakeholders
  • Translate customer and market requirements into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and measurable success metrics
  • Partner closely with engineering to translate product strategy and requirements into actionable development plans and guide features throughout the product lifecycle
  • Work across product teams to define and support logging and visibility requirements for new products and capabilities
  • Help evolve traditional logging from a reactive troubleshooting function into a platform that delivers greater operational insight, analytics, automation, and value for security teams
  • Create and maintain the roadmap for SaaS platform capabilities, balancing customer needs, market trends, business priorities, technical considerations, and cloud infrastructure economics
  • Partner with UX, engineering, and product teams to deliver differentiated, automated, scalable, and intuitive product experiences
  • Ensure platform capabilities and underlying infrastructure are designed for high reliability, performance, scalability, and rapidly growing data volumes
  • Define key performance indicators and product success metrics, and use customer, product, and operational data to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging customer needs, industry trends, and competitive offerings
  • Partner with product marketing to develop positioning, messaging, sales tools, and go-to-market content
  • Collaborate with technical marketing, sales engineering, and technical support to enable field teams, gather feedback during beta programs, support adoption, and address customer escalations
  • Serve as a strong voice of the customer throughout product strategy, prioritization, and development

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management experience, including ownership of technical, platform, or enterprise software products
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: networking, network management, network security, or next-generation firewalls
  • Experience with logging, telemetry, data ingestion, data processing, storage, forwarding, analytics, or large-scale data platforms
  • Experience building or managing SaaS, cloud-based, or large-scale platform products
  • Demonstrated ownership of product strategy, roadmap, requirements, prioritization, and product lifecycle execution
  • Experience partnering closely with engineering teams to deliver complex technical products or platform capabilities
  • Experience gathering requirements directly from customers and stakeholders and translating complex technical needs into clear product requirements and priorities
  • Experience using customer, product, operational, or market data to inform product decisions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex technical systems and translate them into clear product strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments with multiple concurrent priorities
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, equivalent practical experience, or equivalent military experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large-scale logging, observability, telemetry, analytics, or security data platforms
  • Experience managing network or security devices throughout the lifecycle, including onboarding, configuration, ongoing management, and decommissioning
  • Experience developing products that improve IT, network, or security operational efficiency
  • Experience optimizing SaaS or cloud platforms for compute, storage, processing, and infrastructure cost at scale
  • Experience developing AI-enabled product capabilities, analytics, automation, or intelligent operational workflows
  • Experience with network security management platforms, next-generation firewalls, or security operations environments
  • Experience working directly with enterprise customers, partners, sales engineering, technical marketing, and technical support organizations
  • Experience taking new platform capabilities from concept through launch, adoption, and ongoing optimization

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
