The Windows + Devices organization is committed to delivering high-quality experiences across a broad and diverse device ecosystem. The Windows Fundamentals team helps ensure that Windows products and experiences meet a consistently high bar by combining customer insight, deep technical partnership, data, and disciplined execution.

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager at the India Development Center to lead important Fundamentals initiatives from strategy through delivery. In this role, you will identify the customer and product outcomes that matter most, define measurable success criteria, and partner across engineering and product teams to drive durable improvements at scale. You will work across organizational and geographic boundaries, bring clarity to complex technical problems, and help teams make informed tradeoffs that improve the end-to-end Windows experience.

Responsibilities
  • Product strategy: Define and evolve product strategy, priorities, and roadmaps for broad Fundamentals initiatives, grounded in customer needs, product goals, and technical realities.
  • Metrics and insights: Establish success measures and guardrails, use telemetry and qualitative feedback to identify opportunities, and translate insights into clear product actions.
  • Cross-functional leadership: Partner closely with engineering, design, research, data science, and product teams to align requirements, resolve ambiguity, and drive execution.
  • Execution excellence: Lead complex initiatives across milestones and dependencies, proactively manage risks, and ensure improvements are delivered with quality and sustained over time.
  • Customer focus: Represent a diverse range of customer scenarios and device configurations, ensuring product decisions reflect real-world needs and inclusive design principles.
  • Systems and scale: Partner on tools, platforms, and engineering mechanisms that improve product visibility, accelerate learning, and help prevent regressions.
  • Communication and influence: Communicate technical findings, priorities, and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders at all levels, and influence decisions without direct authority.
  • Team contribution: Raise the quality of product thinking and execution through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mentorship of peers.
Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, program management, software engineering, or a related technical role.
  • Experience leading cross-functional product or engineering initiatives from definition through delivery.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data and customer insights to guide decisions.
  • Experience working on system software, platforms, devices, or other technically complex products.
  • Demonstrated ability to define product strategy and translate it into measurable, executable plans.
  • Experience with telemetry, diagnostics, experimentation, or engineering quality systems.
  • Proven ability to build trusted partnerships and drive alignment across teams, disciplines, and geographies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make complex topics clear to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Customer empathy and a passion for building inclusive, reliable products that operate at global scale.
