Senior Principal Engineer (AI, HPC)

What you’ll achieve:
Help design and deliver the infrastructure powering the next generation of AI. We are seeking an experienced Senior Principal Engineer to assess, design and deploy advanced AI GPU and HPC environments for enterprise customers. You'll work across the full solution lifecycle from data centre assessments and solution design through deployment, validation and customer handover. This is a hands-on role working with cutting-edge AI infrastructure including liquid-cooled and air-cooled clusters, NVIDIA networking, high-speed fabrics and integrated rack solutions.

Essential Requirements
- Experience delivering AI, HPC, GPU or complex infrastructure solutions
- Strong knowledge of Linux, servers, storage and high-speed networking
- Experience with multi-node and multi-rack environments
- Understanding of data centre power, cooling, racks and cabling
- Strong customer-facing, consulting and troubleshooting skills
- Willingness to travel up to 50% across ANZ and internationally
Desirable Requirements
- Knowledge of Dell PowerEdge XE platforms, Dell Storage, NVIDIA AI infrastructure, Base Command Manager (BCM), OMNIA, SONiC, CVT, InfiniBand, Spectrum-X, NCCL, HPL and liquid cooling technologies
Responsibilities
You will:
- Assess customer infrastructure and data centre readiness
- Design compute, storage, networking, power, cooling and cabling solutions
- Produce rack layouts, connectivity designs and implementation documentation
- Deploy and validate AI/HPC clusters and integrated rack solutions
- Deliver air-cooled and liquid-cooled environments, including CDUs and rear-door heat exchangers
- Validate physical fabric connectivity using NVIDIA Cable Validation Tool (CVT)
- Work with InfiniBand, Spectrum-X and high-speed Ethernet technologies
- Perform system bring-up, troubleshooting and performance testing
- Mentor engineers and build technical capability across the team
- Collaborate with customers, architects, project managers and technology partners
