In Egypt, Siemens Mobility is implementing the European safety standards “European Train Control System (ETCS) Level 1”. Spanning 950 km, this project is part of the broader Egypt National Railways Projects and aims to enhance the safety standards, increase the number of passenger trains, and boost freight capacity.

Today, we are recruiting for a Senior Opportunity & Claim Management Engineer to join our team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Define and implement opportunity management standards, identify, assess, quantify, and track opportunities throughout the project lifecycle, lead cross-functional workshops, and maintain the opportunity register.
  • Lead comprehensive change impact assessments covering cost, time, resources, and consequential impacts, and drive impact analyses in coordination with PM and Planning.
  • Support the preparation, substantiation, and timely submission of claims and notices, contribute to claim strategies, and ensure proper entitlement evaluation and protection of Siemens’ contractual position.
  • Lead the tracking and analysis of project correspondence, ensure timely responses to client communications, and monitor external parties’ obligations and deviations.
  • Coordinate with PM, CPM, Planning, Engineering, and Procurement teams, provide guidance on opportunity and claim management, and challenge assumptions to achieve optimal negotiation outcomes.
  • Lead client-facing CCB meetings, coordinate change management topics, and ensure changes are assessed, validated, tracked, and closed on time.
  • Conduct audits, identify improvement areas, and drive best practices in opportunity and claim management.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Engineering degree, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field, with strong knowledge of contracts, claims, QS, and change management.
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in infrastructure projects, preferably railway project
  • Experience in Cost impact analysis, schedule management, contract and claim management, and claim substantiation.
  • Strong in analytical skills, negotiation, stakeholder management, documentation, and problem-solving.
  • Advantageous Practical experience with Primavera P6 and previous experience working on railway projects.
  • Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
