THE ROLE:

As part of External Manufacturing Operations - Backend Engineering, the candidate will lead technical and operational engagement with external suppliers supporting thermal cooling solutions (ASIC and integrated up to Board level) and value engineering program management. The role is responsible for manufacturing readiness on New Product Introduction, high-volume production execution, process optimization and yield improvement and value engineering. The candidate will also lead and develop a team of engineers while working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

THE PERSON:

The successful candidate must be a hands-on people leader with strong technical judgement, structured problem-solving skills and a proven ability to drive results in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. The candidate should demonstrate effective cross-functional project management, stakeholder alignment, conflict management and executive communication.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead supplier engagement for thermal cooling solutions, related materials and manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement and new capabilities ahead of business need.
  • Plan and drive New Product Introduction, qualification and ramp readiness for new products, suppliers, sites, lines, equipment and manufacturing changes.
  • Drive supplier manufacturing readiness through process-flow reviews, PFMEA, control plans, equipment and tooling readiness, measurement capability, traceability and production monitoring.
  • Monitor supplier performance for yield, process stability with repeatability and reproducibility, drive to resolve deviations and prevent excursions.
  • Lead timely issue containment, root-cause analysis, corrective action and recurrence prevention for manufacturing excursions.
  • Build and execute Value Engineering initiatives covering material and process optimization/localization, alternate-source qualification, productivity improvement.
  • Lead, coach and develop engineers by setting clear goals, priorities, ownership and performance expectations, while building technical depth and succession.
  • Align cross-functional teams on deliverables, decision rights, risks and action plans, and provide concise, data-based updates to management.
  • Support supplier and manufacturing-site audits and travel regionally or internationally as required; perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant experience in semiconductor backend, electronics manufacturing, thermal or mechanical components, or high-volume supplier operations, with significant technical and people-leadership responsibility.
  • Proven experience leading and developing geographically distributed engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of liquid-cooling and thermal solution manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated track record in supplier manufacturing readiness, NPI and ramp, high-volume production support, process qualification, excursion management, structured problem solving and change control.
  • Proficiency with analytical and reporting tools such as JMP, Minitab, Power BI, Python or AI-assisted analytics is an added advantage.
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, negotiation, conflict-management and cross-functional project-management skills.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Advanced technical or business qualifications are an added advantage.

Compensation: Expected salary range: SGD 142,800.00 per year to SGD 204,000.00 per year
