As a Senior Manager, Treasury, you will play a critical role in shaping our strategic direction while ensuring a well-managed operational environment. You will be at the forefront of identifying and mitigating risks, overseeing a team of treasury professionals, and acting as a key partner to our Senior Director. The ideal candidate will bring a horizontal mindset, an analytical eye, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional coordination. With an increasing volume of complex cash management requests, we are looking for a strategic thinker who can design robust funding strategies while maintaining flawless execution and a strong control environment.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Strategic Treasury Ownership: Own liquidity and cash management, cash forecasting methodology, treasury KPIs and dashboards, funding strategy, and bank account strategy and controls.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Drive strategic decision-making to support an increased volume of specialized cash management requests and initiatives
  • Cross-Functional Coordination & Relationship Management: Manage internal and external relationships with key stakeholders, serving as the primary bridge between Treasury and cross-divisional teams, external partners, and financial institutions.
  • Risk & Control Environment: Own the Treasury control environment, ensuring the flawless execution of activities. Establish the segregation of duties necessary to implement robust controls, reduce operational risks, and enable proactive liquidity management.
  • Process Improvement: Challenge the status quo by identifying process improvements, optimizing cash flow trends, and driving automation opportunities to mitigate potential risks.
  • Leadership & Talent Development: Lead, manage, and mentor a team (including Associates and Senior Associates). Invest in continuous learning, talent development, and performance management to ensure long-term retention and career growth.
  • Executive Reporting: Lead the creation of materials, analysis, and presentations for senior leaders and cross-functional partners, providing proactive communication and reporting on treasury initiatives.

  • Ownership: Take end-to-end responsibility for the Capital One Travel Treasury Strategy in partnership with the Head of Business Operations.
  • Collaboration: Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Product, and Risk teams to modernize treasury infrastructure. 
  • Leadership: Influence and steer execution to shift workflows from reactive to proactive, ensuring resilient and scalable financial processes.
  • Creativity: Identify strategic opportunities within treasury operations and implement timely, effective enhancements
  • Innovation: Leverage large datasets to drive automated solutions that significantly increase overall efficiency and productivity.  
  • Quantitative Rigor: Apply deep analytical and mathematical expertise to evaluate complex financial data, ensuring precise and data-backed decisions for treasury strategies. 

Key Job Family Responsibilities

Team & Process Management

  • Manage specific processes and team members within the overall Regulatory Reporting team, including offshore resources, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining a robust control environment.
  • Oversee the offshore vendor relationship and direct day-to-day offshore deliverables.

Core Operations & Reporting Systems

  • Oversee recurring regulatory reporting deliverables and the month-end consolidation process using Hyperion.
  • Manage the Hyperion regulatory reporting tool, incorporating chart of accounts changes, new regulatory requirements, and existing manual deliverables into the automated reporting process.
  • Leverage the newly implemented automated regulatory reporting tool to streamline reporting workflows and drive ongoing operational efficiencies.

Governance & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Drive internal governance processes and lead process excellence initiatives across the entire reporting function.
  • Partner regularly with regulatory agencies, internal audit, accounting, treasury, regulatory compliance, and legal teams.
  • Participate in cross-functional corporate and regulatory initiatives, including Basel II implementations and loan platform conversions.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 6 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting • Bachelors Degree or military experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in finance or accounting • CPA • Prior regulatory reporting experience at mid to large size financial institution • Prior public accounting experience • Prior external financial reporting experience • Strong management experience including management of an off-shore vendor

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $177,700 - $202,800 for Sr. Manager, AccountingNew York, NY: $193,800 - $221,200 for Sr. Manager, AccountingRichmond, VA: $161,500 - $184,300 for Sr. Manager, Accounting

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
