Senior Install Technician, ID Install
The Senior Install Technician is a hands-on role responsible for the physical deployment, installation, and commissioning of IT infrastructure within Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers. You will work as part of a skilled team to rack, stack, and cable servers, networking equipment, and other hardware components, ensuring capacity is delivered safely, accurately, and on time. This role requires a strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to execute complex installation procedures in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Key job responsibilities
- Install, rack, and cable servers, networking equipment, and other hardware components in accordance with approved procedures and design documentation.
- Execute structured cabling, fiber optic, and copper connectivity tasks to meet meet AWS standards.
- Perform hardware validation and basic troubleshooting to confirm successful installation prior to handoff.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and site-specific safety requirements.
- Use internal tools and ticketing systems (e.g., SIM-T, Boost) to track work, manage installation batches, and document completed tasks.
- Collaborate with Data Center Operations (DCO), Network, and Engineering teams to coordinate installation activities and resolve blockers.
- Maintain accurate records of installed hardware, including serial numbers, asset tags, and rack positions.
- Support capacity delivery milestones by meeting installation targets and quality standards.
- Identify and escalate issues that may impact availability, safety, or project timelines.
- Adhere to all physical security requirements, including clean-in/clean-out (CICO) procedures for red zone access.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in telecommunications or network infrastructure.
- Experience with cable installation and cable management.
- Knowledge of server systems and power infrastructure.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written).
- B driving license valid in EU.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management experience.
- Ability to manage vendors.
- Associate's degree in telecommunications or related field.
- Experience with fiber optic installations.
- Knowledge of network protocols and architectures.
- Knowledge of power distribution units (PDUs).
