Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Engineer I - Component to support and drive the development, qualification, and management of critical suppliers and components used in advanced manufacturing and semiconductor-related assemblies. This role is ideal for a Mechanical Engineer with a strong Materials Science background who thrives at engineering, supplier quality, and manufacturing processes. You will play a key role in ensuring reliability, supplier performance, and material/process integrity across the supply base.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong previous experience as a technical lead for suppliers, driving performance in quality, delivery, and root cause and corrective action planning.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, with a focus on continuous improvement, improving lead times and risk mitigation.
- Lead supplier qualification, audits, and capability assessments for new and existing vendors.
- Ensure that all supplied products meet mechanical, thermal, and material performance requirements.
- Review and approve drawings, specifications, and material/process requirements.
- Lead or support root cause investigations related to supplier quality issues.
- Develop and maintain specifications, qualification reports, and supplier documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry and customer standards (e.g., MIL, IPC).
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or related field
- 5 – 7 years of experience in engineering, supplier quality and manufacturing
- Strong background in materials science and process–material interactions
Preferred Requirements/Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or MBA 3-5 years’ experience
- Experience in semiconductor, aerospace, or high-reliability manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with hermetic packaging and microelectronics assembly
- Knowledge of electroless and electrolytic plating of electronic packaging
- Knowledge of common semiconductor industry standards
- Experience conducting supplier audits
- Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $70,304-$205,000.**Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
