As a Senior EMC & Radio Test Engineer, you will plan, perform and manage compliance testing for customers’ electronic equipment and subassemblies. Working within an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory, you will contribute your technical expertise to test process development, continuous improvement and customer consultation.

This role combines hands-on testing with responsibility for developing reliable test methods and helping internal and external customers understand EMC and radio compliance requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and perform EMC and radio compliance testing in accordance with applicable standards, EU directives and customer-specific OEM requirements.
  • Perform radio testing covering the ETSI EN 301 489 series, as well as measurements of spurious emissions, transmitter output power and harmonics of intentional transmitters.
  • Develop and improve test processes, procedures, equipment and software to support reliable, efficient testing.
  • Develop user documentation and provide training on test procedures and equipment.
  • Define calibration and maintenance strategies for test equipment in line with laboratory accreditation requirements.
  • Prepare and review accurate technical test reports that meet accreditation requirements and document compliance results.
  • Monitor changes to relevant EMC, radio and OEM standards, and update test methods and documentation accordingly.
  • Advise internal and external customers on EMC and radio compliance requirements and testing activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least five years of relevant experience as a Product Regulatory Engineer, EMC Test Engineer and/or Radio Test Engineer.
  • Practical experience applying a selection of the following standards; experience with every standard listed is not required:
    • IEC 61326-1
    • CISPR 32 / EN 55032
    • CISPR 35 / EN 55035
    • IEC 60601-1-2
    • IEC 61000-6 series
    • ETSI EN 301 489 series
    • ETSI EN 301 908 series
  • Knowledge of the EMC Directive (2014/30/EU) and Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU).
  • Ability to prepare clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • C1-level proficiency in both German and English is mandatory, including technical writing and spoken communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and experience working within an accredited testing laboratory.
  • Knowledge of the Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR) and the German Medizinprodukterecht-Durchführungsgesetz (MPDG).
