Senior Director, Product Management

We are building product capabilities for scientific and enterprise customers that need to manage complex scientific data, workflows, automation, and cloud services. We are seeking a Product Senior Director to lead product management for the Molecular Platform and Robotics Automation efforts. This leader will set the product strategy, roadmap, customer-engagement approach, and investment priorities for these areas. You will work directly with strategic customers, scientists, engineering, applied science, and OCI partner teams to turn complex customer needs into clear, scalable product direction.

This is a people-leadership role for a technically strong product leader who can operate effectively in an evolving environment. You will lead the product team, establish a disciplined product operating model, make cross-team trade-offs, and be accountable for moving from customer discovery and pilots to well-supported product investment decisions.

Minimum Job Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
12 years of experience in product/service/project/program management, product design, or related field

OR

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 8 years of experience in product/service/project/program management, product design, or related field

OR

Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 6 years of experience in product/service/project/program management, product design, or related field.

Job Skills:
Same skills as prior level.

Preferred Job Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
13 years of experience in product/service/project/program management, product design, or related field

OR

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 9 years of experience in product/service/project/program management, product design, or related field

OR

Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field AND 7 years of experience in product/service/project/program management, product design, or related field.

Job Skills:
Same skills as prior level.

People Leadership / Management Experience:
7 years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports.
Product Domain Experience:
6 years of experience in the relevant product domain (e.g., procurement, accounting, healthcare).
Agile Methods Experience:
2 years of experience in applying agile methodologies and practices (e.g., Scrum framework) to manage projects.
Customer Interaction Experience:
5 years of experience in customer interaction.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do 

  • Define and execute the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and investment priorities for the Molecular Platform and Robotics Automation efforts. 
  • Lead and develop a high-performing product team, establishing clear ownership, decision-making, customer engagement, and product-delivery practices. 
  • Work closely with strategic customers, scientists, laboratory operators, and automation partners to understand scientific workflows, operational constraints, and the highest-value problems to solve. 
  • Set the product direction for Molecular Platform capabilities that support scientific data, workflows, and customer outcomes. 
  • Define the initial scope and longer-term product strategy for Robotics Automation, including how laboratory instruments, robots, workflow systems, scientific data, and cloud services should work together. 
  • Partner with engineering, applied science, Shared Experience & Authoring, security, operations, and other OCI teams to make clear decisions on scope, sequencing, reliability, safety, cost, and time to market. 
  • Represent the product direction to senior OCI leaders and customer stakeholders, creating alignment across teams without relying solely on formal authority. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 
  • 12+ years of product management, product strategy, product design, or related experience for highly technical enterprise software, cloud services, platforms, automation systems, or data products. 
  • Experience leading and developing product managers or cross-functional product teams. 
  • Demonstrated experience setting product vision, strategy, roadmaps, requirements, and success measures for complex customer-facing products. 
  • Experience working directly with technically demanding enterprise customers and translating detailed workflows into scalable product capabilities. 
  • Strong technical judgment across cloud platforms, distributed systems, data platforms, workflow orchestration, APIs, automation systems, or AI-enabled products. 
  • Proven ability to make and communicate trade-offs across customer value, technical feasibility, reliability, safety, cost, and delivery timelines. 
  • Exceptional written, analytical, customer-engagement, and executive-communication skills. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with scientific data platforms, laboratory informatics, life sciences, robotics, lab automation, industrial automation, or hardware-software products. 
  • Experience working with laboratory instruments, liquid handlers, robotic systems, imaging systems, sensors, ELN/LIMS platforms, workflow tools, or automation vendors. 
  • Experience defining and evaluating customer pilots, prototypes, or early-stage products using measurable business and operational outcomes. 
  • Experience building business cases and recommending staged investment decisions for new products or platform capabilities. 
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled systems, model evaluation, data governance, and secure enterprise data workflows. 
  • Experience operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment and leading teams through changes in customer requirements, scope, and priorities.
