Senior Director, HP on HP Customer Zero
Position Summary
The Senior Director Customer Zero is responsible for defining and executing HP's strategy for digital workplace innovation, employee productivity, including enterprise adoption of HP products, solutions, and services.
Acting as HP's internal "Customer Zero," this leader ensures HP's technologies are successfully deployed, operated, measured, and refined within HP before being scaled to customers. The role serves as the bridge between enterprise IT operations, product management, engineering, and customer engagement, ensuring that employee needs, business outcomes, and product innovation are aligned.
This leader drives enterprise-scale initiatives that improve employee experience, increase productivity, accelerate adoption of AI and emerging technologies, influence HP product roadmaps, and create compelling customer proof points that support revenue growth and market differentiation. The position partners extensively with product leaders, engineering teams, services organizations, sales, and executive leadership to ensure HP solutions deliver measurable value for both employees and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the strategy for HP's global digital workplace.
- Partner with HP business units to evaluate new products, influence roadmaps, identify enterprise requirements, and provide structured feedback based on real-world use.
- Lead enterprise deployment, adoption, and operationalization of HP products, software, AI solutions, services, and workplace technologies.
- Translate employee needs, operational requirements, and technology challenges into product requirements, business cases, and strategic recommendations.
- Establish measurable business outcomes for deploying HP solutions including employee experience improvements, operational efficiency gains, productivity enhancements, and technology adoption.
- Drive enterprise workplace innovation programs focused on improving employee experience utilizing edge AI, PCs & endpoint hardware, digital workplace technologies, collaboration platforms, print services, and HP managed services.
- Lead executive governance and prioritization processes for technology innovation, enterprise deployments, and Customer Zero initiatives.
- Build strong partnerships across product management, engineering, IT, security, operations, HR, workplace services, and customer-facing organizations.
- Establish governance, metrics, and operating models that ensure scalable, secure, and sustainable deployment of technology solutions globally.
- Represent HP externally as a thought leader in digital workplace strategy, employee experience highlighting use of HP solutions.
- Develop customer-facing case studies, demonstrations, executive briefings, reference architectures, and best practices based on HP's internal use of its own solutions.
Leadership Scope
This role influences strategy across multiple organizations and business units, directs activities through senior managers and technical leaders, and is accountable for achieving complex organizational objectives. The role regularly interacts with senior executives across HP and externally with enterprise customers, analysts, and industry leaders.
The position provides leadership for cross-functional teams responsible for workplace experience, product evaluation, enterprise innovation, Customer Zero deployments, AI adoption initiatives, and go-to-market enablement activities.
Required Experience
- 15+ years of leadership experience in enterprise digital workplace - product management, software platforms, workplace services, or related disciplines.
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT operating models, technology architecture, security, compliance, and service delivery.
- Significant experience leading global, cross-functional initiatives involving technology, operations, product teams, and customer-facing organizations.
- Proven success operating at senior leadership levels and influencing executive stakeholders.
- Experience managing large-scale enterprise end user technology deployments and transformational programs.
- Demonstrated ability to connect business strategy, customer needs, product innovation, and operational execution.
- History of leading organizational change and delivering measurable business outcomes.
- Experience working directly with product organizations to influence roadmap, requirements, and market readiness.

Education
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Preferred
- MBA, MS, or other advanced degree.
- Relevant certifications in product management, program management, IT service management, AI, cloud, or enterprise architecture.
The pay range for this role is $190,950 to $305,550 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
