Meet the Team

Cisco Intersight is a cloud-native operations platform that provides unified management, automation, visibility, and lifecycle operations for infrastructure across data center, cloud, and edge environments. As we integrate AI-driven intelligence into our platform, our SaaS, on-premises, and mobile offerings depend on secure, reliable, and high-performance software engineering to build, test, release and operate complex systems at scale.

Your Impact

You are a Security-Focused Software Engineer providing a dual-lens approach to our architecture: senior security guidance and hands-on software development. Partnering closely with Engineering, Architecture, Product Management, SRE, and Cisco’s Security and Trust Organization (STO), you build secure, resilient, and scalable platform features—including AI-powered capabilities—while maintaining rigorous compliance standards. As a primary technical bridge between software development and security, you write production-grade code, assess the security impact of feature designs (including AI services), and build automation to improve our security posture. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Use Go or Java to implement platform security features and core infrastructure.
  • Partner with engineering teams to design secure patterns for AI/ML model deployment, data protection, and inference security within the Intersight ecosystem.
  • Automate security tooling, vulnerability remediation, and continuous compliance checks using Python.
  • Interpret Cisco-level mandates and security procedures into actionable code, control expectations, andautomated remediation workflows.
  • Review new feature designs, AI architectures and infrastructure changes, identifying security gaps early and recommending mitigations that balance usability, performance, and security.
  • Guide remediation priorities across automated scans, penetration tests, and security reviews, ensuring issues are triaged, assigned, and tracked to closure.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree in and 8 years of experience designing and maintaining production quality backend systems to include:
  • 5 years using Go or Java within a Microservices architecture.
  • 3 years focused on DevSecOps or application security.
  • Experience using Python for security automation and tooling.
  • Experience with secure development lifecycle (SDLC) requirements and translating security findings into practical code-based remediation plans.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability triage, automated security scan findings, and SLA-based remediation workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing or securing AI/ML workloads, including familiarity with common AI security frameworks (e.g., OWASP Top 10 for LLMs) and MLOps security.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native platforms, including AWS, Docker and Kubernetes, and how to secure them via Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Proven ability to balance deep-dive technical software development tasks with broad-scope security policy and compliance mandates.
  • Experience with Cisco security mandates, policies, or product security processes.
  • Familiarity with compliance audits such as SOC 2, ISO 27001 or GDPR/privacy regulations.
  • Security or cloud certifications such as CISSP, CCSP or cloud-provider-specific developer certifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to facilitate technical discussions regarding security trade-offs in software design.
