Job Description

The Sr. Data & Insights Consultant is responsible for providing data, reporting, and advanced insights to enable service design, process evaluation, strategic planning, and business management decisions. This role defines insights relevant to Visa stakeholders and curates data, using statistical analysis and tools to interpret and analyze information to generate actionable insights. The consultant publishes insights in accessible formats for internal and external stakeholders and advocates for data-driven decision making across the organization.

All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver actionable insights by turning large volumes of data into business value for Visa clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage and enhance reporting solutions, ensuring a single source of truth for insights and facts.
  • Develop and deploy automated processes for insight delivery, including self-serve functionality for leaders at corridor, market, and region levels.
  • Lead client-facing initiatives and consulting projects to optimize authorization performance, utilizing subject matter expertise in the Auth space.
  • Build and maintain management reporting dashboards and scorecards, establishing a cadence of reporting across executive stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with reporting teams to align on common reports, definitions, and data sources across markets.
  • Assess, monitor, and enhance service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee preparation and delivery of detailed product/SLA level reporting, presenting actionable insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for service enhancement, process optimization, and risk mitigation, driving adoption of best practices.

This role is a Hybrid position to be located in our Austin or Atlanta office locations. Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD.
  • Experience in data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, QlikView, PowerBI).
  • Experience in analytics with a focus on data visualization.
  • Experience leading design discovery meetings with end-users.
  • Experience working in big data environments.
  • Experience working in an Agile or fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience with SQL and understanding of data modeling concepts such as Star Schemas/Snowflake.
  • Foundational knowledge of probability and statistics.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in service level management, SLA reporting, or similar roles within technology-driven environments.
  • Bachelors degree in a STEM field.
  • Advanced experience with visualization software, preferably Tableau.
  • In-depth knowledge of interactive data visualization best practices.
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of data modeling concepts.
  • Proven experience in SLA assessment, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization and adapting to a fast-paced work environment.

The estimated salary range for this position is $127,300 to $216,100 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Travel Requirements

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
