Senior Credit Risk Manager, Amazon Payments
Are you looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced, innovative company? Come make history with Amazon's Brazil team! We are seeking a hands-on and analytically strong Credit Risk Individual Contributor to support the execution of our credit initiatives in Brazil and help create access to affordable payment methods. You will own the development and optimization of credit policies, working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to manage and improve our digital credit products.
The ideal candidate possesses solid credit risk management experience, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record executing credit strategies end-to-end. You must be able to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.
Key job responsibilities
Define and own the end-to-end credit strategy across the customer lifecycle (acquisition, activation, limit management, and maintenance), setting strategic direction aligned with risk appetite, P&L targets, and long-term growth.
Own portfolio performance management, synthesizing insights across approval rates, FPD, loss rates, incremental profitability, and vintage curves to identify structural risks and translate them into strategic recommendations with quantified financial impact.
Design the experimentation framework for credit decisioning, ensuring statistical rigor and mentoring junior analysts on test design and implementation.
Lead cross-functional initiatives with Data Science, Product, Engineering, Finance, and Collections to drive automation and scalability of decision-making systems.
Proactively respond to macroeconomic shifts and regulatory changes, developing scenario analyses and contingency strategies for senior leadership.
Own the credit risk governance framework, including risk appetite definition, policy documentation, and stakeholder reporting cadences.
Mentor and develop junior credit analysts, fostering a culture of analytical rigor and bias for action within the team.
