Senior Category Manager, Corporate & Business Software
About the role
LSEG is hiring a Senior Category Manager to lead procurement for Infrastructure Hardware and Software.
In this senior role within Technology Procurement, you will shape the category strategy, connect supplier and sourcing decisions to strategic technology programmes, and help deliver commercial value across a global technology environment.
You will lead with clarity and care, giving Category Managers and Senior Buyers the direction, coaching and support they need to focus on the highest-value opportunities and deliver strong outcomes for LSEG.

What you’ll be doing
Define and deliver the global category strategy for Corporate Engineering, including Finance, Sales, Operations and Marketing, HR, Risk, and other Corporate Functions - aligned to technology roadmaps, strategic programmes, business priorities, cost goals and risk requirements.
Lead high-value and complex contract negotiations across software, SaaS, cloud-based engineering platforms and related services, driving strong commercial outcomes while managing risk appropriately
Improve value across the supplier base by supporting supplier consolidation, preferred supplier use, demand management, licence optimisation, benchmarking and cost reduction and strategic sourcing
Build trusted relationships with strategic suppliers and act as a senior commercial adviser to technology leaders, budget holders, Finance, Legal, Vendor Management and Risk teams.
Partner with engineering and transformation teams to ensure sourcing strategies and supplier decisions support technology roadmaps, platform modernisation and software delivery objectives.
Support the adoption of emerging technologies ensuring commercial arrangements deliver long-term value.
Coach and develop Category Managers and Senior Buyers, helping the team prioritise work by value, risk and business impact. Maintain visibility of pipeline activity, savings, renewals, supplier data, contracts and category spend.

What we’re looking for
- Experience in Technology Procurement across a broad range of Software and SaaS suppliers, ideally including Corporate Engineering providers
- Experience leading high-value or complex contract negotiations across software and professional services.
- Commercial judgement, including an understanding of pricing models, contract terms, supplier risk and practical ways to improve value.
- Experience coaching, guiding or prioritising the work of Category Managers, Senior Buyers or procurement delivery teams.
- The ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate clear recommendations.
- Analytical, problem-solving, planning and project management skills.
- Confidence using procurement systems, reporting tools and management information to support sourcing, supplier management and governance.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to turn complex commercial and technical information into practical insight.
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
Additional experience
- A procurement or supply chain qualification, such as MCIPS or IAACM welcome but not essential
- Experience in Financial Services, Information Services, FinTech or another global, regulated organisation.
