Microsoft is looking for a talented Senior Business Planner, Azure to lead monetization and business planning for the Azure Infrastructure portfolio. In this role, you will define, develop, and deliver a clear business strategy, optimized monetization, customer-centric packaging and pricing, and operationally sound business models to grow our Azure Infrastructure portfolio and drive broader adoption of Azure cloud.

Responsibilities
  • Define business & monetization strategy, business model, pricing, packaging & licensing for Azure Infrastructure products
  • Engage closely with engineering to inform/influence product strategy and drive alignment between product vision and monetization strategy.
  • Drive strategic decision making with senior executive stakeholders across the company.
  • Drives the strategic execution of business model changes, inclusive of price changes, product planning, and programmatic changes, following the documented launch processes.
  • Partner with product marketing and sales teams on go-to-market strategies to land new offers in market, create pricing concession and promotions, adjust strategy based on sales feedback. 
  • Leads partnership with vendors for customer research and uses research to drive business decisions.
Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field AND 4+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field AND 8+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field AND 6+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in product strategy, business planning, pricing, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated strategic framing skills with the ability to evaluate complex tradeoffs to create alignment between engineering, product marketing, and business owners.
  • Communication skills with the ability to simplify ambiguity and influence across organizational boundaries.
  • Demonstrated success driving cross‑company alignment in highly matrixed environments.
  • Ability to use data driven insights to evaluate performance, including impacts on sales cycles, customer experience, and revenue; translate findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Drive analytical decision-making by sizing opportunities, designing experiments, defining success metrics
  • Create executive ready narratives that frame strategic choices, articulate tradeoffs, and influence direction at the senior leadership level.
  • Model Microsoft’s culture and values in all aspects of collaboration, leadership, and execution.

Business Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
