The Strategic Vendor Acceleration (SVA) team was created to accelerate the growth and profitability of strategic vendors across Amazon Worldwide (WW) Stores. Our team creates solutions to drive better customer and vendor experience and enable improved selection and value propositions worldwide.
Amazon is looking for an analytical, results-oriented, self-directed, and customer-focused candidate to join the Strategic Vendor Acceleration team as a Sr. Business Development Manager – Supply Chain. We are seeking a customer-obsessed individual with vendor management skills to build collaborative relationships with both vendors and vendor management teams across WW Amazon Stores (US, Canada, Europe, Japan, MENA (Middle East and North Africa), Mexico, Brazil and India websites). This is a highly visible role, working with vendor executives and Amazon teams across multiple WW stores, and your work will directly impact how we evolve and grow Amazon’s global business.

Key job responsibilities
•Work with internal and external business teams to develop solutions that optimize the inbound supply chain network by improving cost structure, service levels, vendor lead times, and quality of the program.
•Design solutions, develop business cases, and manage projects from design to production.
•Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to identify best-in-class inbound supply chain networks.
•Map physical and data flows and develop and deliver a roadmap of initiatives to achieve the ideal state in existing and new stores, including vendor education.
•Prioritize and deliver initiatives that reduce lead times and costs across the end-to-end supply chain with global vendor partners.
•Identify areas for improvement, select the best supply chain programs, and develop metrics to monitor inbound supply chain performance.
•Plan and execute vendor Gembas (Japanese improvement methodology where you go and see where the work is done) to drive the right supply chain program adoption and reduce mutual cost to serve with vendors globally.
•Create models and tools for profitability analysis to measure and improve cost structure by product group and program.
•Lead focused and strategically critical projects across WW Stores as required to support Global Supply Chain Operations.
•Diagnose Amazon processes, recognize supplier needs, identify improvement opportunities, prescribe improvement strategies, and guide improvement efforts.
•Motivate and influence cross-functional teams to meet challenging deadlines in a high-growth, deadline-driven environment while achieving impeccable quality.
•Deliver results aligned with Amazon priorities including working backwards from customer needs, thinking beyond constraints, fact based decision making, and ability to earn trust with stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional or military experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or technology, or Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or other related field
  • Experience owning program strategy, managing end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Master's degree or above in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or Business Administration, or Master's degree or above in engineering, statistics, computer science, operations research, business analytics, information systems or equivalent
  • Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
  • Experience working with technical and product stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize features, and influence product roadmaps

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
