Security Engineering Manager
Description
Product Security is the central team providing design and implementation security support to all products at Meta. The organization is responsible for enabling product groups to build secure-by-default products, preventing and detecting software vulnerabilities. The team is seeking an experienced Security Engineering Manager to support multiple web-security and mobile OS-security teams who build and deploy scalable SAST/DAST/agent-based detection and prevention tooling across multi-product technology stacks.
Responsibilities
Support the security engineering teams that build scalable tools to secure our web stack and mobile OS apps Influence and align the organization’s vision and strategy, while engaging the team to develop and deliver specific, multi-year roadmaps, programs, and projects Ensure prioritization, resourcing, and timely delivery of project work within a changing business environment Define operational metrics, key performance indicators, and service level objectives to assure the team achieves deliverables Hire, grow, and build a high performing team capable of achieving the team’s mission Collaborate and influence a wide range of cross-functional teams to develop scalable and flexible engineering solutions designed to mitigate security risks Build, cultivate, and maintain positive relationships with cross-functional partners to enable the team’s ability to effectively and efficiently execute on project work Be a broad technical and process subject matter expert across the Product Security domain
Qualifications
BA/BS in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience in Security 10+ years of work experience in security or software engineering and 5+ years of people management experience Experience recruiting, building, and leading technical teams and managing managers, including performance management Experience in driving large cross-company engineering initiatives, and communicating and influencing across functions to drive solutions Experience leading and managing complex multi-year cross-functional programs Experience developing and delivering information on program status for leadership Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) Security domain experience in one or more of the following domains: web applications, mobile applications, distributed infrastructure, or a related field Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
Compensation: $219,000/year to $301,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
