SAP Basis Administrator - m/f/d
Are you an SAP technical expert looking for a role where you truly own the application lifecycle rather than just ticking off tickets? If you want to drive accounting automations, manage critical SAP add-ons, and ensure seamless system health in a global environment, we have a role for you. Join Siemens and make a direct impact on our core financial platforms.
Core responsibilities:- Application Ownership: Act as the central technical authority for SAP add-on applications, overseeing releases, hotfixes, licensing, documentation, and vendor escalation paths.
- Release & Installation Management: Own the deployment pipeline across sandbox, test, quality, and production environments, enforcing strict dependency checks and smooth regression testing.
- Transport & Patch Orchestration: Review and manage complex vendor transports, add-ons, and SAR/PAT packages, coordinating post-processing and business retesting.
- Advanced Troubleshooting & Root-Cause Analysis: Dive deep into failing background jobs, short dumps, and authorization gaps. Isolate true root causes and turn messy incident reports into precise vendor diagnostics.
- System Health & Integrity: Monitor data flows between SAP and financial platforms, managing system locks, deactivations, and downstream dependencies during upgrades or migrations.
- License & Migration Continuity: Ensure uninterrupted application licensing and registration through system copies, cloud migrations, and version updates.
- Security & Compliance Alignment: Partner with cybersecurity teams on third-party code scanning, namespace documentation, and secure authorization management.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Hold external software vendors accountable, translating complex business issues into actionable technical requirements.
- Degree in IT, Computer Science, Finance Systems, or a related discipline.
- Strong hands-on SAP technical background, including production SAP ECC and S/4HANA systems, background jobs, authorizations, transports, and SAP-based financial applications or ERP integration experience.
- Sharp analytical mindset: ability to isolate root causes from symptoms, structure technical problem-solving, and turn incident reports into clear diagnostic requests.
- Great communication skills: ability to explain technical SAP issues to non-technical finance users and write clear documentation and knowledge-transfer materials.
- High risk-awareness in production environments, meticulous attention to system dependencies, and strong ownership of open technical actions.
- Experience in coordinating external software vendors and cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Good command of English for global technical coordination (written and verbal).
- Preferred: SAP certification and basic understanding of financial closing processes.
- Working in a strong, stable, and global international company environment.
- Flexible working hours and the possibility of working from home (home office).
- Competitive financial remuneration and a performance-based bonus system.
- A broad package of employee benefits (5 weeks of vacation, flexible benefit system / Cafeteria, meal contributions, pension insurance contribution, and more).
- Support for personal and professional growth, language courses, and technical training.
- A supportive, collaborative team and thorough onboarding process.
