ResponsibilitiesRole Summary
Our Sales Compensation team is looking for a Sales Incentive Pay Analyst to support the backend execution of sales incentive compensation processes. This role focuses on maintaining incentive compensation system updates, supporting pay calculation activities, validating payout data, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of sales incentive payments.
The Sales Incentive Pay Analyst works closely with Sales Incentive Pay Consultants to execute incentive pay-related activities. While the Sales Incentive Pay Consultant engages directly with cross-functional stakeholders in Sales, Finance, HR, and Sales Operations, the analyst provides the detailed backend support needed to ensure system data, payout calculations, validations, reporting, and supporting documentation are accurate, complete, and processed on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the administration of sales incentive compensation plans by performing backend system updates, data maintenance, payout preparation, and calculation support in accordance with approved plan documents, business rules, and internal governance requirements.
- Calculate, validate, and review commission, bonus, and incentive payout results to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Investigate payout discrepancies, data exceptions, crediting issues, and calculation variances; work through the Sales Incentive Pay Consultant to support stakeholder resolution and required follow-up actions.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports on incentive performance, payout trends, attainment, exceptions, and operational metrics.
- Support Sales Incentive Pay Consultants with incentive plan execution, quota alignment validation, compensation model updates, payout reporting, and related operational activities.
- Assist with plan design changes, annual compensation planning activities, and compensation strategy reviews by preparing data analysis, system updates, validation files, and process input for the Sales Incentive Pay Consultant.
- Work with IT to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve incentive compensation system issues, data processing errors, access concerns, and system-related exceptions impacting pay calculation or operational execution.
- Maintain accurate documentation, audit trails, validation evidence, process controls, and records to support compliance and internal review requirements.
- Ensure incentive compensation processes comply with company policies, regulatory expectations, data privacy requirements, and applicable internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting accuracy, enhance stakeholder experience, and strengthen process governance.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Analytics, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in sales compensation, incentive compensation, finance operations, HR compensation, sales operations, or data analytics.
- Experience working with incentive compensation management systems, commission platforms, CRM tools, ERP systems, or business intelligence reporting tools is preferred.
- Experience supporting audit, compliance, SOX-aligned controls, or governance processes in a compensation or finance operations environment is preferred.
- Exposure to global or regional sales compensation programs and collaboration with stakeholders across multiple countries or business units is preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns, validate calculations, and summarize insights clearly.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and reconciliation techniques. Power BI, Tableau, Power Apps, SQL or Python is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive compensation data with confidentiality and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively with Sales Incentive Pay Consultants and internal compensation team members, with clear communication of data issues, system updates, payout validation items, and required follow-ups.
- Working knowledge of system issue tracking, data troubleshooting, user access coordination, and collaboration with IT support teams to resolve compensation system issues.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage recurring deadlines, prioritize tasks, and support multiple compensation cycles.
