Sales Development Representative
Curious Minds. Bold Ideas. Extraordinary Impact.
We're transforming financial services through bold innovation and relentless execution. You bring the ideas and drive. We'll build what's next — together.
The Opportunity
nCino KYC Africa is on a mission to make money laundering impossible. Our software and compliance services help accountable institutions worldwide meet their obligations – from attorney groups to asset managers and foreign exchange firms.
As a Sales Development Representative, you are the first conversation a prospective client has with us. You research the market, open doors through outbound calls and campaigns, qualify inbound interest, and book the meetings and demos that become real opportunities – then hand a well-qualified prospect to the Business Development Executive who takes it forward.
This is a role for someone who enjoys the hunt. You work alongside our sales, marketing and partner teams and see a direct line between your effort and our growth. Do it well and there is a clear path ahead of you into a closing sales role.
What You’ll Do
- Research your market to find the accountable institutions that need what we build, and the people worth talking to.
- Open conversations through cold calls, email sequences and social outreach, and follow up on inbound and marketing-generated leads.
- Qualify prospects by understanding their compliance challenges, then position nCino KYC Africa against them.
- Book meetings and demos for the sales team, and keep the handover clean.
- Keep an accurate pipeline in Salesforce and Salesloft, with disciplined follow-up.
- Report on activity and results weekly, monthly and quarterly.
- Partner with marketing on campaigns and represent us at industry and partner events, with around 30% travel.
Ideally You’ll Have
- At least 2 years of experience in sales or business development, including outbound cold calling.
- A track record of meeting or exceeding activity and quota targets.
- Hands-on experience with CRM and sales engagement tools – Salesforce and Salesloft in particular.
- Clear, confident communication and the ability to hold a senior buyer’s attention on a first call.
- The self-motivation to run your own pipeline without close supervision, and a real appetite for being part of a team.
- Bonus points for: B2B SaaS or technology sales, exposure to financial services or compliance products, and time spent in a smaller company or newly formed team. .
In Return We’re Offering
- Competitive base salary plus commission on qualified opportunities and closed business, inbound and outbound.
- Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
- Medical aid and retirement fund contributions.
- Paid annual leave plus volunteer days.
- Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support.
- A learning budget and clear progression – this role is a launchpad, not a holding pattern.
- Hybrid working: three days a week in the office, flexibility for the rest.
nCino is an equal opportunity employer, and we welcome applications from people of every background and experience – tell us what adjustments you need and we will make them.
