We are seeking an accomplished and strategic 2nd-line Sales Leader to head up Salesforce’s New Zealand Public Sector business, based Wellington. The role reports directly to the Senior Vice President for Australia & New Zealand. This senior role is responsible for driving customer engagement, sales strategy, and sustained growth across the full Salesforce product suite for our New Zealand Government business.

As the RVP, you will lead a team of high-performing Account Executives and work closely with internal stakeholders to deepen our impact and presence across government ministries and agencies. You will serve as a trusted partner to public sector leaders, understanding their priorities and aligning Salesforce’s technology to support mission-critical outcomes.

Being the executive leader for Public Sector New Zealand, it is expected the successful candidate will not only deliver upon the core sales leadership accountabilities, but also be recognised as the industry advocate for Government to increase Salesforce’s presence and impact within the sector. This is a senior role within the Salesforce Public Sector business in ANZ and successful candidate will be required to develop and execute the the New Zealand Government business plan, engaging with key Salesforce executives at an ANZ and Global level.

Job Profile

    • Responsible for setting and executing Salesforce’s strategic sales strategy. This executive will assume leadership of a growing sales organisation, including Account Executives, to help drive complex enterprise class transactions & contracts
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy across the full Salesforce suite to expand cloud adoption.
    • Drive pipeline generation and business development initiatives to unlock new revenue opportunities
    • Ensure accurate forecasting, territory planning, and performance tracking
    • Manage overall sales process, set appropriate metrics for sales funnel management
    • Plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels
    • Thrive in challenging and unprecedented times; motivate and inspire a team; anticipate market changes and act on them quickly
    • Establish trusted relationships with key Salesforce teams, including; industry marketing, product development, product management and recruiting
    • Public Sector industry advocacy with Government delivering thought leadership and promoting the impact of transforming citizen service delivery.
    • Building a strong positive teaming culture for the extended team selling to the public sector and supporting our public sector customer’s success. Critical to the job success is cross team collaboration and execution.
    • Hire, coach, and retain top talent with a passion for customer impact in the public sector.

Required Skills/Experience

    • 2nd or 3rd line leadership experience leading teams in strategic sales
    • 8+ years in software and/or applications sales (ideally in a CRM, ERP and/or B2B SW company), selling primarily to the CxO and Government senior executive level.
    • Strategic enterprise sales experience and revenue achievement selling multiple enterprise software offerings, in Public Sector
    • Strong track record of recruiting, developing and retaining a high performing enterprise sales organisation
    • Proven success driving net new business
    • Consistent overachievement of quota and revenue goals
    • Proven track record of building satisfied, loyal and reference customers
    • Proven success working within a highly matrix organisation and establishing strong relationships across all functions
    • C-­suite level resources, aligned with Account Executives and internal leadership teams to present a single front internally and help represent a single vision for our customers
    • Strong operational and analytical abilities
    • Experience selling cloud based enterprise applications is strongly preferred
