Description

The Revenue and Accounts Receivable team owns Order-to-Cash accounting for Tesla’s automotive business. You will handle day-to-day OTC, revenue, and AR activity — including AR risk analysis, gross margin and revenue analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting — while helping the team scale through better process, controls, and system adoption.

This role sits in a fast-paced close cycle. You will need to meet deadlines, reprioritize without losing accuracy, and push for simpler, more automated ways of working when issues repeat. Comfort with changing processes, US GAAP, internal controls, and new tools is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve issues in Order-to-Cash, revenue, and accounts receivable transactions
  • Prepare, upload, and adjust journal entries in the accounting system
  • Respond accurately and on time to requests from FP&A, Corporate Accounting, Finance Operations, Record-to-Report (R2R), ITC, and senior management
  • Execute monthly SOX controls and balance sheet reconciliations, and comply with Tesla financial policies and procedures
  • Support projects that improve efficiency and scale accounting processes
  • Work cross-functionally to improve and automate processes that affect OTC accounting
  • Drive system adoption and help formulate and apply US GAAP accounting policies, internal controls, and process standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience; Master’s degree or professional qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, RA) is a plus
  • Experience in accounting, finance, or a related operations role
  • Strong attention to detail, with solid analytical and numerical skills
  • Bias for automation and process simplification; hands-on, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power Query, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python is a plus
  • Excellent written and spoken English, including the ability to present clearly to senior stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn, collaborate, and adopt new systems quickly
