We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and highly motivated facilities professional to join our team and oversee facilities maintenance Management for Apple retail stores across the Houston based region. This role serves as the primary facilities partner for assigned stores, balancing hands-on store support with vendor management, project oversight, and budget ownership.

Description

The Retail Facilities Manager serves as the primary facilities partner for Apple retail stores in the regional portfolio, conducting structured on-site reviews and driving vendor, project, and budget performance to keep stores running at the highest standard.

Responsibilities

  • Store Operations & Service Delivery — Proactively engage with store teams to understand and address their needs; conduct structured on-site reviews at each assigned location a minimum of twice per month, identifying and documenting facilities experience issues in coordination with store, market, and Global Retail Support leadership.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management — Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure contracted maintenance services meet store needs; lead facilities staff and contractors in delivering timely, cost-effective operations services; coordinate emergency response; manage vendors through work order systems, regular check-ins, and performance evaluation.
  • Project & Program Oversight — Drive functional and operational excellence across projects and programs by providing actionable feedback to cross-functional partners (Real Estate, Design, Innovation, Standards, Merchandising, Direct Sourcing, Security, IS&T); oversee commissioning agents and contractors supporting store acceptance and turnover.
  • Budget & Financial Management — Own OpEx and CapEx budget creation and management through Service Channel and other tools, including geo-level forecasting; engage general contractors, consultants, vendors, and maintenance service providers in competitive bidding and contract negotiations (SOWs, CPSAs, project-specific contracts).
  • Building & Systems Expertise — Apply expertise in building upkeep and systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, landscaping) and quality improvement projects to maintain and enhance Apple's retail environments.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration — Partner consistently with Development and RDDM design teams to maintain a continuous feedback loop that improves building functionality and informs material selection.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in construction or facilities management, with a demonstrated focus on maintaining and delivering exceptional retail stores, workplaces, and/or critical environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
  • Must be centrally located near a major hub of assigned retail stores, with the ability to conduct on-site visits a minimum of twice per month.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop comprehensive Preventive Maintenance plans and the tools needed to monitor them effectively.
  • Deep expertise in planning, scheduling, budgeting, resourcing, and executing technical services required to maintain and improve buildings — including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, fire alarm, janitorial, landscaping, flooring, lighting, furniture, warehousing, pest control, interior plants, and call-center services.
  • Strong judgment in balancing operational risk and investment, consistently pursuing the highest quality and design at the best value.
  • Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve maintenance issues, including experience prioritizing repairs and directing resources efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience working across all levels of an organization and a proven ability to handle customer service challenges in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Demonstrated experience building and sustaining relationships with facility operations teams, utility companies, government agencies, architectural and design firms, and general contracting firms.
