This role is an Expert staff-level position within HP's Global Responsible Sourcing Team. The individual serves as a senior leader responsible for driving strategic responsible sourcing and human rights initiatives through cross-functional influence, program leadership, stakeholder engagement, and operational execution.
The role requires a highly effective collaborator who can navigate complex organizational environments, align diverse stakeholders, build scalable processes, and translate technical responsible sourcing, regulatory, and human rights requirements into practical business solutions. Working across procurement, supply chain, legal, sustainability, and customer-facing teams, this individual will lead high-impact programs, drive governance and execution, and represent HP with customers and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will help ensure HP effectively manages risk, meets evolving stakeholder expectations, and advances its responsible sourcing strategy through strong program management, customer engagement, and enterprise-wide collaboration.
Responsibilities:
Leads strategic responsible sourcing and due diligence programs, translating evolving business, customer, regulatory, and stakeholder expectations into scalable requirements, governance processes, and operational solutions.
Drives cross-functional alignment across Procurement, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Legal, Compliance, Government Affairs, and Communications to develop and implement responsible sourcing priorities, positions, and enterprise-wide initiatives.
Owns the development, governance, and continuous improvement of responsible sourcing policies, standards, supplier requirements, and related management systems to support risk management, regulatory readiness, and customer expectations.
Leads complex, multi-stakeholder projects from strategy through execution, establishing clear operating models, decision-making processes, accountability mechanisms, and performance measures.
Serves as a trusted advisor to internal teams and external stakeholders, translating complex responsible sourcing, human rights, sustainability, and regulatory topics into practical business guidance and customer-relevant messaging.
Develops executive-ready recommendations, briefings, and communications that enable informed decisions on emerging risks, stakeholder concerns, legislative developments, and strategic priorities.
Supports customer engagement on responsible sourcing matters, coordinating cross-functional responses to customer inquiries, assessments, due diligence requests, audits, and escalations. Translates complex technical topics into clear business and customer-facing communications, aligns stakeholders on commitments and positions, and drives effective resolution of issues and requests.
Monitors emerging trends, customer requirements, regulatory developments, and industry expectations, converting insights into implementation strategies, engagement plans, and organizational priorities.
Provides leadership in ambiguous and rapidly evolving situations, balancing business objectives, stakeholder expectations, operational realities, and risk considerations while driving practical and sustainable outcomes.
Education & Experience Recommended:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Rights, Law, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Sustainability, Supply Chain, International Relations, Business, or a related field; legal training or experience with international human rights standards is preferred.
- Typically has 8+ years of relevant experience in public affairs, responsible sourcing, human rights, sustainability, supply chain due diligence, policy, regulatory strategy, or stakeholder engagement, with demonstrated ability to operate independently as a senior subject matter expert in a global, matrixed organization.
- Fluency in English, with strong executive-level written and verbal communication skills; additional languages are a plus for global stakeholder engagement.

The pay range for this role is $105,050 to $161,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
