Group/Division

The Semiconductor Products and Customers (Semi PC) business unit designs, builds and sells KLA’s product portfolio to help chip manufacturers meet high-quality standards for technologies like AI, data centers, automotive and electronic devices. Our inspection, metrology, and analytics systems detect and monitor defects across logic and memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging, process equipment and materials. We also develop technologies for specialty processes, IC substrates, and PCB manufacturing, including etch and deposition, component inspection, and imaging and analytics. The Measurement, Analytics and Control (MACH) division is KLA’s software powerhouse, responsible for developing high-performance software platforms that support semiconductor manufacturing. MACH delivers cutting-edge technologies in patterning analytics, modeling, and data science—empowering chipmakers to ramp next-gen devices faster and more efficiently. Our cross-functional team of research scientists, software engineers, apps engineers and process engineers are solving the industry’s most complex technical problems.

As a trusted software solution provider within KLA — one of the leading equipment manufacturers in semiconductors — we build and maintain software that ensures a stable and efficient production process in semiconductor manufacturing. Our team in Dresden is looking for a Requirement Engineer/IT Business Analyst (f/m/d).

About the role

• Shape product features. Understand what our customers really need, and turn stakeholder concepts into a consistent part of the software that delivers maximum value with a lean, clear design.
• Own the specification. Create, maintain and improve software requirements so that everyone — customers, developers and testers — works from the same understanding.
• Connect people. Lead requirement and concept discussions, support the team by facilitating collaboration and removing communication barriers, and act as the link between our customer-facing experts and the development team.
• Build domain and software development expertise. Grow deep knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, our products and our software development practices.
• Use AI where it helps. Apply AI tools, agents and workflow automation to make requirements engineering, documentation and your own daily work better and faster.

Within KLA, we collaborate with teams around the globe, including colleagues in the USA and China — and there are opportunities to travel and work with them on site. This role involves regular collaboration with our teams in Asian time zones. Minimum Qualifications

About You

• Education: A degree in mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, computer science or a comparable field. A strong mathematical background is an advantage.
• Proven experience: You have worked in software, semiconductor or another technology-driven industry.
• AI proficiency: You already use AI tools, agents and automated workflows in your daily engineering work and want to push that further.
• Analytical thinking: You enjoy taking complex technical systems apart and finding the root of a problem.
• Communication: You work well with customers, engineers and developers, and you can build agreement between them.
• Attitude: Curiosity, perseverance and a passion for solving hard customer problems.
