We are looking for a Regional Commodity Manager - Production Equipment to develop and drive supply chain management strategies and activities with procurement teams across Siemens divisions and business units in the Americas. In this role, you will ensure regional business needs are represented in the global sourcing strategy and help strengthen competitiveness and profitability through sustainable savings, material availability, supplier innovation, and optimized demand pooling.

This role may be performed remotely from a home office; however, candidates must be available to work between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern Time. While remote work is available, a hybrid work arrangement from our Alpharetta, GA office is preferred.

You'll make an impact by: 

Build and maintain strong relationships with Siemens factories, manufacturing engineering teams, and local procurement organizations through regular on-site engagement.

Manage the Production Equipment commodity to generate sustainable savings and support the continuous availability of materials across the Americas.

Align regional sourcing activities with the global Production Equipment Purchasing Council strategy while ensuring the needs of divisions and business units are reflected in global sourcing plans.

Strengthen commodity management processes, tools, resources, skills, and knowledge in close cooperation with the global Purchasing Council and cross-functional partners.

Conduct international supplier and market analyses, evaluate internal Siemens demand, and continuously assess current spend and future sourcing opportunities for savings potential.

Lead cross-functional sourcing and negotiation teams involving Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Procurement stakeholders.

Drive regional demand pooling in line with the global commodity strategy and identify qualified incumbent and challenger suppliers for sourcing opportunities.

Lead supplier selection and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to maximize operating profit and support business objectives.

Administer supplier contracts with optimized commercial terms, risk-mitigation provisions, volume discounts, and rebates, and oversee the supplier network, including Global Value Sourcing suppliers.

Coordinate the participation and activities of internal business partners representing applicable business units across the Americas.

Support Business Unit Commodity Managers in implementing plans for cost, availability, supply chain resilience, and quality.

Develop and apply innovative negotiation concepts and techniques to deliver sourcing results.

Identify and leverage supplier innovations that improve manufacturing productivity, quality, and sustainability.

You'll win us over by having the following qualifications: 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university 
  • 8+ years of progressive, relevant experience in strategic procurement, global supply chain management, commodity management, engineering, or supplier development, preferably within a large corporation. 
  • Knowledge of Production Equipment market trends, suppliers, and sourcing strategies within the Americas, including sheet metal production machines; robotics, autonomous mobile robots, and factory automation equipment; welding equipment and joining technologies; automation cells and system integration; industrial process equipment; and material handling and intralogistics solutions. 
  • Track record of leading change and successfully implementing innovative process improvements. 
  • Proven team leadership through the definition, planning, and implementation of complex projects. 
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational capability, including leading cross-functional teams and implementing and controlling cost-reduction and value-adding measures. 
  • Established supplier negotiation capability involving pricing, frame agreements, and strategic collaborative programs. 
  • Strong commercial acumen in negotiating complex contractual agreements, along with knowledge of domestic and international commercial law and commercial finance. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting and influencing internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels. 
  • Advanced analytical capability using procurement analytics, digital procurement tools, Microsoft Office applications, and corporate procurement databases. 
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal 
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required, potentially up to 40%. 
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Degree in Engineering and/or a Master of Business Administration (MBA). 
  • Background operating in a project environment. 
  • Familiarity with Siemens procurement systems, tools, and processes, including SAP, SCM CoRe, and SCM Star. 
  • Knowledge of Spanish and/or German is a plus. 
  • Prior Siemens experience.

The pay range for this position is $109,670 - $188,006 annually with a target incentive of 15% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
