Responsibilities

The candidate will be expected to contribute to a Signal Separation Project focused on Automotive Ethernet Full Duplex Standards. Accordingly, the following qualifications and interests are highly desirable for this project:

  • Strong interest in high-speed signals and signal integrity.
  • Willingness to work with:
    • Real-time oscilloscope waveform data
    • High-bandwidth voltage probes
    • Current probes
    • Test fixtures
  • Ability to:
    • Understand automotive communication standards from technical specifications.
    • Validate performance using the oscilloscope's protocol decoder, rather than relying solely on eye-diagram metrics.
    • Design controlled experiments and document negative as well as positive results.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the project, including justification for all selected constants and parameters.
  • Prior project experience involving:
    • Signal processing
    • Measurement or laboratory-based research
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineering major (Senior undergraduate, Master's, or PhD student preferred).
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Digital Communications, or equivalent knowledge of PAM signaling, scramblers, equalization (FFE/DFE), timing recovery, and eye-diagram analysis.
    • Linear algebra, including least-squares methods, regularization techniques (Ridge/Tikhonov), and condition numbers.
  • Proficiency with:
    • Python and MATLAB, as well as at least one compiled programming language (C# or C++), as the next phase of the project involves porting the prototype to C#.
  • Completion of, or demonstrated proficiency in:
    • Signals and Systems
    • Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
  • Foundational knowledge of:
    • FFTs, filtering, and time- and frequency-domain analysis.
  • Willingness to work at the Keysight Colorado Springs, CO site.
  • Exposure to wired PHY-layer technologies (e.g., Automotive Ethernet, 1000BASE-T, PCIe), the Keysight Infiniium framework or oscilloscope automation, Wireshark or Scapy, and experience interpreting IEEE standards will be considered an advantage.

CO pay range - Min $38.09 to Max $41.02

The level of role will be based on applicable experience, education and skills; most offers will be between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range.
