R&D Nano Patterning Technology Development (NPTD) Engineer
Job Responsibilities
NPTD is responsible for nano patterning technology research development and implementation on the production line, with a focus on TSMC's mainstream technologies such as advanced lithography, high-NA EUV, e-beam technology, and optical simulations required for N2, A14, and A10 nodes. Job responsibilities include researching and applying new lithography processes, jointly developing new EUV equipment with suppliers, developing new materials and measurement technology for new components, predicting patterning behaviors through optical simulations, addressing failures during the new process development, improving yield and transistor performance, assessing stability and reducing costs in the early stages of mass production, establishing standard operating procedures, and transferring technology to mass production plants.
Job Qualifications
1. Master’s degree or above in an engineering or scientific field such as Materials Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Optics.
2. Being passionate about developing world-leading technologies.
3. Possessing solid technical understanding of IC processing equipment, integrated flow, chemistry, and physics.
4. Exhibiting good and open communication skills and ability to work within cross-functional teams, including internal and external partners.
5. Being fluent in English.
6. Having skills in AI and programming is preferred.
7. Possessing strong knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE) principles. Knowledge of machine learning or artificial intelligence is an added advantage.
8. Demonstrating flexibility in changing priorities and responsibilities to support business needs.
9. Engaging in hands-on participation in process or hardware with a strong sense of ownership.
10. Being willing to make frequent fab presence.
11. Requiring strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills based on fundamental, rather than empirical models.
12. Possessing excellent written and spoken communication skills is required.
