We also collaborate with engineering teams and customers to gather, analyze, and leverage data to enhance product quality and reliability.
What you’ll achieve
As a Quality Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the quality performance of drives within Enterprise Systems. You will leverage data analysis and dispatch profiling to identify trends, investigate issues, and support root cause analysis. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help ensure timely containment and resolution of potential quality concerns while promoting continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.

Essential Requirements
- BA/BS Degree in Engineering field (electrical, mechanical, systems, computer) with 4+ years of related experience or MS degree with 2+ years of related experience
- Strong computer skills (Excel proficiency required, VBA and SQL aptitude a plus)
- Strong data analysis skills, statistical knowledge a plus
- Ability to work effectively with global team members
- Strong communication, leadership, project management, and change management skills.
- Working knowledge of quality methodologies, including 6 sigma, lean, 8 disciplines, etc.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience and knowledge of hard drives, solid state drives or other storage devices
- Advanced understanding of statistics and data analytics
- Experience and ability to leverage AI tools to assist in data analytics
- Comfortable presenting data and conclusions in executive forums
Compensation
Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is$124,100 to $160,600

Responsibilities
You will:
- Collaborate with external and internal Enterprise partners to drive continuous and measurable improvements in product and process.
- Monitor field performance of hard disk drives and solid-state drives used in the ISG portfolio to identify issues and allow for early investigation and mitigation.
- Lead investigation, capture root cause failure analysis, lead containment and corrective actions, and document lessons learned to prevent issue recurrence.
- Drive (HDD and SSD) quality across the ISG portfolio to identify and implement projects to improve Customer Experience and reduce dispatched rates (FIR).
- Lead Quality extended team to execute plans/schedules that support LOB goals and initiatives.
- Forecast lifetime dispatch rates (5 yr. FIR) for current and new platforms.
- Defines and drives reduction initiatives, and develops supporting business cases for product design features
- Communicates with leadership and sometimes executive level teams, proactively communicating and recommending options and solutions, ability to make a case prior and anticipate questions
- Deals with ambiguous situations within project, across organization and influencing change Considers impact on customers in quality decisions
